WWII killed 70 million people. The bubonic plague killed 100 million in the 14th century (25% of world population at the time). A flu epidemic killed 50 million in 1918-1919. And every day 20,000 people die from lack of food worldwide (though in America way too much food is the leading cause of death). As far as I can tell CO2 has killed a grand total of absolutely nobody. So get your flu shot, don't invite flea-ridden rodents into your home, have a sandwich (but not too many sandwhiches), and don't vote for Hitler.

If you really want to reduce your carbon footprint you can simply reduce your consumption. In short, live modestly. That means not buying a new electric car, even if going zero to 60 in 3 sounds in a Tesla sounds like a whole lot of fun. It also means not building a gigantic house far larger than anybody needs and then trying to call that choice "green" by slapping solar panels on the roof.

C'mon. Basically good thinking, but if most people do that, others will breed and use up what they saved. Happens all the time. Scavengers take what they can get, it's their nature. There's either genetic change of human mental hardwiring, or this ain't gonna end well.

How could we die in 2006 when Y2K killed everyone six years prior?
I'm convinced we all died in 2012 and this is just hell

"reduce consumption" more like reduce to zero if I just die lmao suicide is eco friendly

Somebody had posted a link to how you can have your body composted, at least at one location in the US.

In the past I've suggested that environmentalists drop dead & compost since that's the optimal way to protect Earth. Just never thought anybody could turn that joke into a serious plan.

"CO2 levels on Earth have officially ...

Good grief. Climate change is a constant on this planet. The arctic and antarctic ice sheets are increasing. It's more like global cooling going on now. Global warming is a hoax.

I guess if CO2 gets high enough the whole atmosphere becomes an exit bag?

Has anyone seen the movie First Reformed? A character killed themselves because of the destruction people have done to this planet including climate change. I won't tell you the rest for spoiler reasons - it's a twisted movie that I personally enjoyed.

P.S. - please don't kill yourself over global warming - although I love the movie, I don't support the idea of suicide over this issue.

As much as I am Pro CTB, that is a pretty stupid reason to be suicidal.

I roll my eyes so hard. To me it feels like virtue signalling that belongs in reddit, not pain enough to overcome SI as most people have here.

"CO2 levels on Earth have officially hit 415 parts per million (ppm), according to readings taken at the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawai'i. That's the highest level since homo sapiens came onto the planet, meteorologist Eric Holthaus tweeted, and represents an increase of 15 ppm over just the past three years. "We don't know a planet like this," Holthaus said. "

The fuckin world is on fire and I hate the country I live in right now and all of my friends are depressed and suicidal. I'm trying to get mental health services/disability but the system is broken (exact words from a nurse when I was inpatient) and I just don't wanna be around for this, but I don't have the balls to do anything because I don't want my boyfriend to find my body... then I think why should I care what happens after I die when I'll be dead?? its not my problem anymore? fuck
Global warming isn't a good enough reason to CTB. That is like me taking my life because I read that a asteroid has a 1 in 2000 chance of hitting earth in 30 years.

What I did though is got two methods as an insurance policy for my dignity, so that I can still live life. But if shit hits the fan I can exit.

. Do not buy into this scam it's pushed by the globalist elite to justify taking away freedom and to discourage fertility of people who are conscientious enough to consider what environment kids come into.

I guess people can pretend the icy Alaskan waters didn't completely melt if they want to, but what I never understand is why people say we don't need to worry about it because it's not man-made and earth always changes. That's true. Currently, it's changing into Venus and people can't really live there.

So, (and perhaps this doesn't apply here, SS being SS) if we want a future for humanity, we need to see a way around this shit. Whether or not we did it, do we want to engineer a way to survive or just chalk it up to life on the 3rd rock?

And this applies times infinity if you have kids. Kind of a big FU to them to just blame the planet and call it a day.

So, if you believe climate change is not man made, how do you justify not doing shit about it? If a car is coming at me, I'm going to move; IDGAF who's driving.
