I had one of those inconsistent and gibberish-filled fever dreams. I could describe it, but it wouldn't make any sense. Whenever I tried to talk to someone, they'd respond with some completely unrelated nonsense garble, and then for some reason I'd do the same thing.

A good teacher can make anything tolerable, but the degree of your own interest in the subject also affects how much you'll enjoy it.
I've been studying accounting, management and marketing, and a lot of my teachers are hip and trendy young people. They make for fun social dynamics, but the actual teaching is... Ehh... I am so tired of making PowerPoint representations...

In the end, I'd say that the skill of the teacher is only important if you don't care, because then they can make you care. If you're already passionate, you'll get through on your own, and the teacher is more of a guide. As an autodidact, I've come to learn that school curriculums only ever scrap the surface of the subjects they teach.

@Arvayn I wanted to answer you on this, but I've been mentally drained these days, so let's pretend it is still Tuesday.

It would seem that a subjects structure is made of the minimum checklist needed to comply to an expected quota of passed students. But it is true that in the syllabus there's always the extended, optional bibliography, and that is where the fun start. I've noticed how teachers faces change when you ask them about things out of the minimum scope of the subject or about that extended bibliography, how their eyes shine.

It doesn't seem to be a grateful work that of teacher, with most students just caring about the paper with the authorities signature at the end of the road. I've been asked by colleagues in my professional area If I would like to move to academia, but I'm afraid I would end fed up

Yes, that's bureaucracy for you. People look to educational institutions as setting the standard for proficiency or mastery, when in reality they kind of just set the standard for "good enough", with additional material available for anyone who actually wants to look into it. I believe that someone who is truly dedicated will hit the books of their own volition, instead of looking to institutional accreditation (don't get me wrong, this is important nowadays thanks to the nature of our society, but it should be a complementary thing).
You're totally right about teachers, by the way. In my friend's sociology class, a discussion was held on feminism (it went about as you'd expect). After the class was over, my friend approached the teacher and told her: "Women and men are equal, ergo they are equally garbage. There is nothing more to be said here.", then abruptly changed subject and told her that he's planning to read Amerika by Franz Kafka. This 40-something-year-old woman immediately switched tone and started acting like a little girl, and went all, almost verbatim: "Can I have it, can I read it?! Oh, I love Kafka, I'll read it and give it back to you! Did you read it? Thank you very much, I was thinking of getting it!". Hahaha...
Sadly, being a teacher is a very disrespected job, and most students are ungrateful. They expect you to become a master in your field and to graduate an extra pedagogical school on top of that, and then you're tasked with quite literally preparing the next generation of humanity to uphold society, only to be paid slightly more than minimum wage.

I'd definitely get fed up by academia as well, so I'm with you. I like deep thinking and focused learning, but only in moderation. If I had to do it at the frequency that academia expects of me... Yeah, I'd give up. Mental burnout is very real.

How'd you sleep?

Unfortunately, I've gotten a tooth infection at the root-end of my chipped tooth, and if I am not careful then it may just make its way up to my brain and kill me. The pain is excruciating, but I'm not really bothered by it, since I am used to it.
I'll have to waste time and money going to a dentist... Sigh.

Hm, hopefully the day will make up for it... If not, there's always next time.

They can, yeah, but it's very rare since it requires specific circumstances.
Normally, if your tooth gets infected, you'll be somewhat fine, since there are shields and barriers in place to keep the infection from reaching deeper into your mouth. In my case, though, this particular tooth had a root canal extraction performed on it...and it's also very badly chipped... which means there's an open pathway heading straight to the tooth's root-end, which connects directly to the blood vessels and tissues in my jaw. I've felt the pain slowly spreading throughout my upper mouth. This is actually considered a medical emergency, but I'm not particularly panicked about it. I'll be driven to get care in a bit.
If I wanted to, I could just let it get worse and die, but my final moments would be filled with confusion, hallucinations and delirium. I don't particularly care if either happens.
