@boddibo I personally consider hatred to be an intense, visceral and self-justifying, emotional desire to harm, sabotage, damage etc.; when you truly, earnestly want to oppose and damage something at all costs and you don't feel like you need or care about a reason to do so. As an emotion, hate tends to be a relatively equal-parts mixture of anger and disgust; anger empowers us, gives us confidence to act; it is a call to arms that tells us a situation desperately needs solving and you NEED to DO SOMETHING RIGHT NOW! Disgust, on the other hand, is a form of fear that comes from acknowledgement that an object is bad for us, that we must be aversive to it in order to preserve ourselves; disgust does not always manifest as terror, as we can still stare at a lowly cockroach and acknowledge the danger posed to us is only superficial, which is closer to the disgust felt in hatred's case: Aversion without terror, as if you earnestly feel something is lesser and repulsive.

That brings me to my point: hatred is not rational; it is a feeling. If somebody dislikes or opposes something out of logical reasons, theirs is not hatred. Our hearts are very deceitful little things, though, and one thing that we often do is tell ourselves rational reasons we act the ways we do when the true reason is emotional. To hate something means to unquestionably oppose it with fervor even if you have lost any justification to do so; when you don't care about what consequences or nuances might exist, or what effect it has on you and the world. It is simply intrinsically deserving of hate for existing.

Of course, hatred often stems from more rational reasons to be upset first and foremost... But once it has taken root, that's when it evolves into a cancerous tumor that blinds us. Emotions are not stagnant things; once they manifest in our minds, they gain a will of their own and transform into independent beings overtime.
