So, I guess I have a boss fight in my neighborhood now. There's this pack of stray dogs, 8 dogs strong, that's been going around and coordinating to attack and eat the local cats. My relative saw them surround a car while one of them went in and tried to harass the cat out from beneath the car.

I was told to carry a weapon and to dress in thick clothes just incase I get attacked by those dogs when I go out... this feels cartoonish and absurd. But hey, maybe my sword will finally see use after 100 years!

I remember when I first came out to my friends about being suicidal, and they immediately started blaming themselves, like they were the ones responsible for me feeling that way. Then they started demanding to know what was wrong with them, even though there was nothing wrong with them.
I can empathise with you on that. When I failed to cbt and got stuck in hospital, my SO at the time kept blaming the whole thing on herself. It was so crushing listening to her apologise, and definitely not what I needed to hear at the time.

Good on you for being open with them tho! That's not an easy thing to say, especially to friends.

Lil bit of a tangent, but does anyone else's friends bring up your own cbt attempts? For me, they bring it up as a sort of 'look how good of a friend I am, I was with you through x', and they always preface it with "I didn't wanna have to mention this.."

I think it might be because if they don't know about your experiences, they would have nothing else to blame it on, and this, blame themselves.

You have a sword?
Yeah. A shortsword, to be precise. It's an heirloom from my father's side of the family; the thing is old. One of my ancestors probably had it and just never sold it. It gathers dust in the tiny dungeon that is for some reason beneath our yard (we use it as a basement).
