they probably did count one day, on TFES, game posts count... but the counting game there has been idle for a weeks, while the Flat Earth and random other sections, get daily replies

@R. A. that is correct — they used to count, I think it stopped a year ago, something like that. I've always been a game section type of person.
I believe it's because you need XX posts to unlock DMs, XXX to unlock something else. Maybe just a safety thing so that you really need to interact with others to get the access (I never asked, but I think it might be the reason).
