Well snakes bellies are low but i'm more of a piece of cheese melted to the side walk kinda person. To each their own .

Yes it does pass time and help keep the thoughts of life off to the side for a moment.
If you think a snakes belly is low to the ground.. imagine being melted to the surface of something. How much lower can you get?
