I take a little over a gram (1,000mg) of Benadryl/diphenhydramine almost every night. Despite the hallucinations (spiders, snakes, knocking, name calling, shadows, etc.) it makes me extremely tired and woozy. Do you think if I took a ton of Benadryl before hanging myself it could help make it to where I'm too "high" to try to stop myself / stop survival instinct?

Why not just use melatonin instead?

I consider diphenhydramine to be more of a sleep aid, meaning it's not a hypnotic or sleeping pill, as its action is more superficial than knocking you out.
Personally, I'd use stronger things like benzodiazepines or barbiturates if I want to "hang," although barbiturates themselves can achieve your goal.

Melatonin doesn't work for me. And i use Benadryl regularly so that's what came to mind first. Any suggestions?

I see. Do you know where I can get some? I am not really educated on medications / drugs / etc. :)

Benadryl does make you drowsy, but it is very slow to act.
A can of keyboard cleaner (canned air-not really air), inhaled, causes oxygen deprivation and you pass out.

I've abused benadryl so much, sometimes it doesn't work. Melatonin doesn't work for me at all. To answer your question, I don't think that will work because your survival instincts would wake you up. Maybe I'm wrong, idk.

I feel like if you can get your hands on barbiturates there's no reason to hang yourself. Barbiturates are very strong, and are rarely prescribed in the modern day for this reason. If I could get your hands on them in an adequate quantity, hanging wouldn't even be something I would be thinking about.
