Help Conflicted on whether or not I should report this weird Uber driver

Long story short, dude was

- Talking about his rap career, and how he was better than Wiz Khalifa and Drake combined
- Asked if he could freestyle
- Randomly speeding
- Taking selfies and scrolling on his phone and texting while driving, no accident or car honks but dude was scaring me. A 3 month old was killed on this same freeway bc of a distracted driver literally 2 weeks ago btw.

He was also INSANELY slow, he chose me knowing he was 20 mins away and stopped to go pee at a hospital in the middle of accepting my ride. Then had the nerve to ask if he could stop and finish a granola bar before taking off.

I feel bad for doing it, but yeah this dude is weird and I feel like he could kill someone. I also had a dream about being harmed in an uber a few days prior and I have an overall bad feeling about this dude. Should I just get over it?

When you report you can just write down the experience and someone at support will take a look at it. If you are not sure wether or not there should be any consequenses, it will be up to Uber on how they want to handle it. At least if you report it, it can help get it off your chest. He may even have previous reports that are documented, adding one on top of that raises the chance of ban. In case of accident later, your report can be used as evidence of reckless driving if it happened while he was working.

Aside from the fact that he tried to make reasons to stop in arriving and mid-ride, phone use while driving is illegal. Report him as he risking the lives of not only the passenger, and himself, but everyone in traffic. Just because there was no accident during the ride, does not mean it will never happen.

Yes report him if you feel he was recklessly speeding and is a danger to other road users . Especially since he was taking selfies and scrolling on his phone while driving. That's disregard for your safety and other road users.

You may have been in an incident where he acted strange, or people just didnt bother to report. Uber does not really need lisence plate and profile because that all shows up in the report of the trip itself. You can include attachments though, does not do any harm. The only thing that will be iffy for Uber is if you don't have any physical evidence of what happened during the ride. Depending on the severty he may get a temp. suspension, or full on ban. Your case does sound scary though, and he does not seem serious. Even if he did it only for you, it won't remove the fact that he can do it again.

Rating doesn't mean anything anyway. Both drivers and passangers use rating unfairly. One time I took Uber I got a 1 star rating for no reason. Funnily enough the driver didn't drive me to my destination because he "wasn't familiar" with my small city's traffic laws, the city and area HE resides in. I just accepted it to not stress him out, but that only gave me a shit rating. Lowk felt like I got scammed because I had to walk the rest of the way for the same price. Another time I got 3 stars because I answered his question of what ethnicity I am, and he didn't like that exact country for political reasons, which has nothing to do with me.

Another time I got discharged early morning from the hospital after OD. Driver played music so loud you could feel the bass in your chest. He was also driving while holding his phone and browsing Facebook. I got an allergic-like reaction from the OD and he could tell I was swollen, i smelled like vomit, and in my pyjamas, clearly walking out the lung and heart dep. towards the shithead. I took too long to go back and report it, so Uber refused to look at it.

My point is, Uber is a mess. I only get on it if I am unable to drive my car, and because other services are too expensive.
I searched a bit to see what kind of messages the driver could get, I will just add those here. Uber does state they report who is involved if the passenger is a minor, but nothing is mentioned for adults. If you aren't sure, you can drop a vauge email to support and ask what info they provide to the driver. But the attachements I added don't mention who, when or where.

If you were the only passenger during that period, he may be able to connect the dots, but that is about it. Not to mention, he can't really know if the address he showed up to is your home unless you said it yourself.

To "block" him, give him a low rating or request directly to uber that they flag his account to not match with you next time.

Oh, I also want to say that if he looks nothing like the photo: There have been instances of drivers "borrowing" their Uber account so other people can work for/with them. Not allowed either.

It sounds like you are worried that he might come back for you, I suggest writing it in the report or the email requesting unmatching with him for future rides. Very important you mention that you fear for your safety.
