Meaning it's extremely dangerous and prospects are uncertain. First there is the escape itself: it can fail in a number of ways, and if it does, the consequences are severe. May be a myth, but I read somewhere that fugitive slaves in the Roman Empire had their feet cut off, for example. In our days you will be herded away to some psych ward to undergo mental torture. Or you might become paralyzed, lose your sight, or whatever else.

The second thing is the aftermath. Even if you escape successfully, it doesn't at all mean that you are free. You might end up in a situation much worse than the one you tried to escape from.

So, is your solution to just let life kill us and go to the "worse" situation anyway? Because to attach ANY human consequence to an unknown such as death is a bit... misguided.

Yep- it's all a risk. So is continuing to live. Just depends on what you see as the lesser of the evils I suppose.

I certainly despise how we exist in a world where suicide is made as difficult as possible for people, it's so horrible how suicide attempts can just lead to even worse suffering but I do very strongly believe we just cease existing after this, I see death as being the only relief in this hellish world where other people expect us to be prisoners to this existence.

Suicide is like escaping the earth's gravity, going into orbit. Only wealthy people have that privilege. Only the wealthiest people can go into space. Everyone else is prevented by enormous gravitational forces that make any means of escape fraught with difficulty and danger. In suicide our bodies have developed to put before us all manner of hurdles, impossible to surpass without certain keys. Only the rich can afford £12k to go to Switzerland and get euthanized. That is a lot of money. I'm not even allowed to save up more than £5k, and even that would take a very long time and would rely on there being no emergencies
