I got a generator and put it in my car while I waited for the CO to build up. It stayed on for about 30 min (I wanted to wait til 40) and then it shut off. I think I read that they will shut off bc they need oxygen to run(?)
But now it won't start up. I waited 10-15min. Should I wait longer? Does it just need to cool down? How can I get the generator to start again?

Please help, I want to do this tonight

It is supposed to shut down from the lack of oxygen when there is about 3/4 of the gasoline left.

Did you put the "clutch" in front of it from left to right before starting it? At least in European gen models it has to be done every time or some part (circuit breaker??) gets burned and must be replaced inside it.

Take it to the store where you bought it. If that little part got burned it costs just 1-3 $ to replace it and I bet they will change it for you for free if they sell those parts there (it's not hard to do).
I would not tell using it inside though even if it was an accident.
