What am I doing wrong?!

Put my charcoal briquettes in a charcoal starter. Lit the newspaper underneath. Left for 10 minutes. Not one caught on fire!!

What the hell gives?! I don't get it!

What am I doing wrong here? I followed the instructions as per what was needed on the megathread.

Did you "roll" or "fold" the newspaper tightly so that it resembles small logs, which will allow it to burn longer and hotter? Did you try starting all the coals at the same time? Try just a few coals and get those going first. Once those coals are red, then try adding a few more at a time until those get going, so and and so forth. You could always use lighter fluid, too. It won't matter much since you're going to wait until the impurities all get burned off, anyway.

Buy these at wal mart , they have a paper inside that is made specially for that , less than 20$ each. There is a warning message that says doesnt use in a poorly ventilated area or it could kill you.

It´s always helpful to use the search function and to use a proven guide. Please read my post dated July 4th, 2022:
