I love Christmas. I was in Singapore yesterday and this shop already has their Christmas goodies on their shelves. Christmas is lovely to be honest.

Unfortunately, I don't think I could receive my N. before Christmas, so this year it will be a sad and lonely time for me. I used to love choosing the best gifts for my loved ones, but this year for the first time I have no one to give presents to - my mom is in Heaven, my spouse isn't mine anymore.

So I'm going to visit one beautiful city which I have never been to, to rent a cozy hotel room with a fireplace and a superb view out the window, and to watch lovely Christmas movies all day long, especially my favorite movie - "Love Actually...". Despite the broken heart, I still believe in love and I wish every person could experience this miracle.

I'm indifferent to Christmas. Since I live in the southern hemisphere, December is a warm month. Which makes it even worse. I never gave a Christmas gift, nor received one (other than from my parents, as a kid).

I guess I'm the odd one of the bunch. I hate Christmas and New Years cause of how 'happy' such events appear to be. It's like it's all a front just to showcase what a 'normal' family/friends/society should look like. Plus Christmas is a Christian holiday so I have a bad taste for it. And the fact that I was lied to growing up being told Santa was real just as much as Yahweh and then finding out how much of a sham it all is. 'I bet your fun at parties' reoccurs inside my head every time I think of get togethers where I feel obligated to go to and how much of a party pooper I am. And then as soon as I'm there I feel left out like a stranger in the crowd and in effect feel more lonely than ever. New Years is just as worse celebrating an arbitrary countdown full of complete strangers knowing full well that things will never change what you expect them to. Essentially New Years is a holiday of celebrating the previous year and the next while at the same time I never felt a time where I should be celebrating a bad year. I figured it's all just another day in this shithole. The only thing about this time of the year that I like is the cold weather and it nevers lasts long enough. I could go on but I don't want to ruin the mood which I'm good at.

I can't stand the holidays for so many reasons. Both personal bias from terrible family experiences, and the overly materialistic bullshit masked by this happy... well, what Circles ^ said basically. Bah humbug, I'm a no fun edgelord, etc.

Oh, and my birthday is on christmas day. How do ya like that shit lol

I used to feel the "Christmas spirit" but that stopped a few years back, when things changed within my family.

I always liked the holidays, not for religious reasons but the commercial side of it. The TV shows, the lights, the music and the crap they sell in shops. It's all a marketing ploy, but it works. It's the only time society as a whole tries to do better, with regards to others.

People are generally nicer during Christmas. The cynic in me would say it's all BS, but deep down, people really do try. It makes them feel good, even if it's only for that holiday.

I only enjoy christmas because of the nostalgia I get. I always hope that "this years Christmas will be good like it used to be" but it usually ends up being shitty. Partly because I feel as if I'm getting older where Christmas is just starting to get super repetitive. Like I get it, but I don't like how all of these supermarket stores try to advertise the same shit, with the same items and the same music. Everything is the same. At least with Birthdays it's a little different each year because there is no theme to follow. Unless you're alone like me and spend your birthdays celeberating by yourself, I actually enjoy that though. Not a fan of attention. Sorry for the tangent.

I loved Christmas so much until he'll entered my brain 3 year ago,,so everything on that list. Making edible gifts also and decorating the house. The salvation army pipe band also nice to hear

I love everything about Christmas but I think as an adult it makes me realise how much I'm lacking in family support. When all my friends have their families and normal lives and I worry about being alone for it, sad really. But I've always loved it, just being joy to children

Even when I'm not a suicidal maniac I hate all holidays. Mostly because I'm just happy with a simple day off and going to the store for anything non-holiday related is always a nightmare. I love Christmas. I should actually hate it because I fight with my family so much and every single Christmas that I can remember has turned out to be a disaster. Last Christmas I was preparing to kill myself. But I guess I just like the vibe of it all, it's a warm feeling. I'm not SUPER into christmas honestly...I feel a lot of guilt when people buy me things yet I LOVE buying other people gifts (whenever; I don't limit gift giving "time" for xmas or birthdays tbh just when I run across something that I know someone will like). My therapist says I'm a "gift giver who shows [my] love by giving gifts."

Or something. I am not very good at expressing myself overall but knowing I found that ONE thing that means I know them SO WELL ENOUGH that I know they'll LOVE that one thing is very satisfying to me.

I'm anxious about Christmas because my birthday is around that time and I don't want anyone to make a fuss. I also have to get presents for people (mainly my family, and I just get them the same things every year), so this year I might just withdraw cash from an ATM and throw it at them.

I also work in retail so my hours will be going up and so will tension and angry shoppers.

Wonder if I can just self medicate to get through the next few months.
