Is it Christians people personally hate or, Christianity?
In my own experience, in terms of people, I've actually found the atheists I've known to be much kinder people- weirdly. They've actually been more 'Christian' in terms of their attitude and behaviour than some Christians I've known! Funny in a way. Still- it's impossible to generalise.
Still, I don't hate Christians personally. I suppose I do hate aspects of Christianity though and other orthodox religions too. So, I suppose I tend to get into heated debates about it. I don't mean it personally though.
I suppose in some ways, I just wonder if we wouldn't all be better off without it. It's a relief to me to try and reason why there may not in fact be a God. I suppose, I just find it hard to square witnessing what this world is like with a loving, caring God. So, it's maybe frustration that they're managing to think in ways I can't (anymore.) It's the not quite knowing whether they are right or, I am because I'm not a total unbeliever either. I simply don't know.
So, it probably just comes out as a rant against how unfair the world is, what kind of sadist would have set it up like this? But then also, a fear that there might in fact be a God behind it all. Then, a second rant at how they're likely to favour all the people that sucked up to them despite how much they sinned. Plus, some of the very best people I knew were atheists so, I guess they're in hell and, that makes me angry. Not at the actual people of faith though. Although, it can be kind of baffling hearing how certain things are defended.
