Ok i promise this is the last post about methods from me because I think I've found the one I want to do.

Charcoal burning..

Do you think I could buy one of those beach bbqs, they're relatively small. And use it in a small tent?

Carbon monoxide poisoning. From what I've seen is a peaceful way to go.
You light the coals, wait about an hour for the flames to go until the coals are just glowing then bring it in the tent, pop a sleeping pill and drift away.

Didn't work for me, set up 4 of those in very small room, after waiting for coals to burn down outside first, sat there 6 hours nothing ......

First off, I don't suggest anyone ctb. Only you can make that decision for yourself.

A bbq can work. You will need to, most likely, do some sealing of seams and vents in the tent. Do you know how much charcoal to use? Without actually performing tests and measuring CO, it's a bit of a gamble. But hey, plenty of others have done pretty much just about what you're contemplating and have been successful. My advice is to use a lot of charcoal. Better to use more than enough than not enough. Buy good charcoal that is 100% carbon. Start the grill outside and let impurities burn off (smoking). When coals are ready there will be no, or very little, smoke and the coals will be red/white hot. That's when CO production is highest. Remember you can't smell, see, or taste CO. Might take 20-30 minutes to reach that point. When the coals are ready, that's when you move the bbq into the tent. The smaller the tent the better. You need to generate more CO than what is escaping from the tent. Don't skimp on sealing the tent. Seal seams with caulk. Cheap caulk is fine. Make sure tent has attached floor. But cheap plastic bags, but them in half, and duct tape to the inside of the tent. You need to stop as much CO from escaping through the fabric as possible. When you place the bbq in the tent, let the CO build up before you get into it. Practice getting into the tent as fast as you can and getting the flap closed and zipped and sealed so as not to lose too much CO.

I said doing it this way (unrehearsed) was a gamble, right? Why? Because if you don't generate enough CO to kill yourself, then all you will succeed in doing is seriously injuring, and possibly maiming, yourself for the rest of your life should you survive. Maybe to the point of being so injured that you will have to be fed by someone else, have your ass wiped by someone else, and never be able to attempt another ctb in order to get yourself out of this new hell that you find yourself in. I'm not trying to scare you. I'm just telling you what it is. CO is my method, too, and how I will be exiting. But, I am going to conduct testing to make sure I can get the level of CO high enough in my tent on a repeatable basis. I'll be measuring CO levels with a meter. I don't want to fail. I cannot afford a failure. CO needs to be a one and done method. If it's not a one and done method, there can be serious consequences.

Here endeth the lesson. Good luck to you if you do this. And may you find your peace.

Ugh dudes sounds chancy, for me that would seem unreliable. The possibility that one might not ctb, a be brain damaged scares hell out of this boy. However a gentleman should always respect another's wishes. Peace and love to you all.

You could end up brain damaged from pills, SN, hanging, jumping, the list goes on. Its a pretty much straightforward method i think.

what about a canister of carbon monoxide? Are those easy to acquire?

CO is highly poisonous hence access to it restricted. it's same as buying chlorine or phosgene canisters

I did think about that, I thought about using nitrogen or a tank of CM, however I took realistically it wasn't going to work.

Do you have a link to where I can buy a CO meter?

Maybe you could PM me the link if you see this.

Why do you need a CO meter? Surely if you have the coals, a sealed up tent then you can't go wrong?

Also I just did a Google search and loads of results came up.

Not sure what happened in your case, but plenty of anecdotal and verified (Callie) instances of success with less charcoal. Maybe in smaller spaces like tents? Maybe better charcoal? Maybe better sealing?

What sort of tent would I Need? A 2 man? I'm guessing i would need space for the charcoal without knocking it over in my sleep. Also what's to stop the tent from catching on fire from the heat?

Or what about a very small room rather than a tent (I'm thinking hotel bathroom with tape around the door edges)
