Hey,

I wanted to use this Method, have already researched in this Forum about this Method but what do you think,
i don't now which charcoal briquettes are good and which are not? does every briquettes work? does have anybody have Experience with this Method?
I have seen people in Japan using this Method, one Guy that committed Suicide used 3 small BBQ Grills in a Bathroom must be a very effective Method.

---- What do you think ----

1. Is one Grill enough? i want to use my Bathroom is very small ( and good isolated does not have any Windows ) but it has Ventilator i need to disable it.
2. Is using more Grills better? and the Chance to get higher carbon monoxide concentration in the room.
3. Which tents are working and which tents are not good? i am think that maybe not every materials isolate good.

From all of my research, it is effective, and it will be my method, unless I get my hands on N. If I have to go this route, I will be using three chimney starters to get the coals going really well and then transferring the coals into buckets. I would look for a tent that has the floor attached to the sides, although I think any would work if you seal it. You still should seal all of the other seams. You should/must invest in a good CO meter, so that you can make some dry runs to see how much CO, and how quickly, you can get (the CO) up to lethal levels. You need one that measures at least 10000 PPM. They aren't real cheap, but are way cheaper than buying N. You need to "practice" a few times to make sure that when the time actually comes, that you know it will be 100% successful. You need to get your technique down so it is repeatable. Not sure of the briquettes. I know a quality briquette is better than a lesser quality one. I don't think Kingsford is what you are looking for in terms of "the best". I'm still researching this one.

I am already searching for a good CO meter, i think one with 10000 PPM cost between 200-400 Range?.

I will buy:
1. Royal Oak Premium Charcoal Briquettes
2. Kingsford Original Charcoal Briquettes

Source from my Research: https://carnivorestyle.com/best-charcoal-briquettes

Bot have long burning time, and produce less smoke only the ash is important factor not the smoke.
When i have buyed the 2 different charcoal briquettes and tested it will inform in this thread about the quality.

That price sounds about right for the meter. I have read to stay away from the Kingsford. I know Royal Oak has been mentioned as a good brand. There is something else available, too, to burn, for producing the CO, but I'm not recalling it right now. It might be some kind of a "super-wood" or something. I think it's something the Japanese use and can be bought on Amazon. Maybe it's just a better quality coal, IDK. I know it costs way more than regular charcoal, though. Yes, please, report back about your findings. You're beating me to the testing stage, as I'm about a year away from being ready, and am dealing with a bunch of other stuff right now. There was another post a few days ago where the OP didn't quite understand that the smoke was NOT the CO, so I chimed in, as did others, and cleared that up. And don't skimp on the charcoal. There's really no reason to. It should be a one-time thing, after-all.

Just in case a newbie stumbles across this Thread, CO is COLORLESS, ODORLESS, and TASTELESS. The smoke you see from charcoal burning is from the impurities burning. That is not what you want. You need to wait until the charcoals reach a white/red hot glow, with little smoke. That will be when the most CO is being produced.

I look forward to seeing your results. The ideal would be quickly maxing out the meter.

Edit: This is the tent that another (former) member of SS used successfully to ctb. She had to try two, or three, tents before settling on this one, and if I remember correctly, she lined the tent, too, with something, maybe some kind of foil type substrate, maybe plastic sheathing, I can't remember, as well as taped up all the seams. And she did this all out in public at a park, nonetheless. If you do a search using the name of the tent, you can find her final Thread.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with. t's hot here, too. I think 3 buckets of charcoal in a small-ish tent should be sufficient, but won't know for sure until I do some trial runs. I don't know about doing your testing on a balcony, either. Someone might wonder what your doing and inquire, or worse. I'm going to have to figure out how to go about my testing, too. I plan to ctb in my garage. But, I want to do my testing in there, too, just because I have no where else to do it, really, and it's the safest place, since I live alone. I'm going to have to figure out how not to be overcome by CO that might build up in the garage from CO escaping from the tent. I don't want to be partially gassed, and maybe knocked out, but not killed. That would be no good at all. Might have to get some kind of breathing apparatus, too, just for the testing. I don't think I could just leave the overhead doors open with a tent erected on the floor. Kinda looks suspicious.

yes i tought myself who i do the testing? the balcony is not the best idea. Yes definitely in the tent.
i found maybe a location, i live in a small village there are many farmers and i will do it in the night.
the location is far away from the next civilization there should not be any problems.

Personally it's one of my favourite methods. I wish I had the space and time to be able to do this uninterrupted and without rousing suspicion from anyone but unfortunately my current circumstances make that a little difficult.

Another idea I just had is that one could rent out one of those storage spaces and pitch the tent inside there. No one knows what you're doing if you close the overhead door. That's a lot of privacy. Actually, I really like that idea, especially for me, since CTBing in my garage and, subsequently, being discovered there, would end up being a spectacle for all of the neighbors. Doing it at a storage facility eliminates all that. Sure, LE will be at my house eventually, but there won't be a body removed from my garage. It may be a worthwhile $100 investment for the monthly rent.

Wouldn't the storage facility actually check to see if you've left the building? I would have thought they would put protocols in place to make sure that you leave the building after checking in.

as for the tent, would you be ok without it having pinned down to floor. You may be fine if the poles does it's job.
