... Look... I have no idea how I came up with that idea... But since I majored in physics and am heavily involved with astrology... why not ask such a question. xdd

Never thought about it before, but if I went to a place I really like the sound of, like another galaxy or close to some distant planet, I guess I wouldn't mind.

actually that's fascinating. Recently read a scifi book in which one character (basically) ctb by jumping into a black hole. In his own perspective he was gone, but for everyone else he was still jumping into that black hole...

I used to fantasize about what it would be like to space travel to another planet. Maybe Proxima Centauri the nearest sun. Maybe even get spaghettified in a black hole! Could I really look back, and see all time?! Great poll btw.

i have always been in awe at the scale of space and the universe. It would be worth it to die while being able to see the entirety of the earth, to see enormity of Jupiter and the red spot or to be so far out and see earth as a pale blue dot and feel small and insignificant and in awe of the beauty and scale of the universe.

Yeah, that's exactly what would happen. You slowly turn red-shifted and stop in place as the red colored photons are the last to escape your body. No one would actually see you enter the black hole, either, you'd just freeze in place and… slowly fade away. And also, due to time dilation, you don't die until the Heat Death of the Universe.

Would be kind of cool, yet scary, to see the universe going in fast motion. Watching stars be born and die and then die some more. Somewhat beautiful, in a way.

… Though, that's if you don't get torn apart by its excretion disk, first. And also pick a Supermassive Black Hole! A Stellar one will just get you Spaghettified.

This question reminds me of the song "Space Oddity" I think it would be an oddly peaceful way to go all things considered. Definitely not painless but sort of peaceful in the way that you would just be floating in an endless soundless expanse with no gravity to tie you down. Plus it would be a fast death, you would pass out almost immediately and be dead in around 2 minutes. There was a man named Jim LeBlanc who was exposed to a near vacuum in the early NASA days (1966) all he remembers was the saliva on his tongue starting to boil and then he passed out, he was saved in roughly 30 seconds (varies a bit depending on the source) and survived with no major injuries some how.
