• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Hello SaSu friends

I am not sure if I am quite in recovery however I know I need to manage my feelings better now whatever is in my future

i am very prone to catastrophising and I am looking for resources people have found success with to manage this please. I had a look at the pinned resources and maybe I just wasn't looking right but couldn't see anything specifically about catastrophising

I'm struggling to lock in with techniques as they seem to focus on distraction from the worry, i need ways to support myself to understand how ridiculous the catastrophising is and self soothe that way. Unfortunately I have no one in my life personally I can safely share my catastrophic thoughts with to tell me I'm being ridiculous. So self help i have to go for.

Please don't suggest professional care to me as this is not possible at this time.

In my viewpoint, that is the BEST aspect of SaSu, is that we are ALL in this together, helping each other in support, making sure that we ALL are family here and never ever listening to negative people on the outside who either do not know about mental health or have crappy opinions and judgements that do NOT matter at all.

You ARE family here and I give you a HUGE hug and the knowledge that you have family here always.

Family always,

Walter

Agreed!
It's a great community, and full of kind people (mostly) that can empathize and offer ideas.

I've personally gotten a lot from being here. The most important? The feeling that I'm not alone with my thoughts and feelings.

I'm not sure what catastrophising is, though.
We're here for each other!

I don't know if I'm using the right term, but I feel it is not only imagining the worst outcome to any situation but also creating very complex bad situations in my head that feel inevitable to happen. It's like I can't imagine any step in the bad chain of events not happening and i spend time thinking about it all as done and dusted and not in any way flexible

That was probably a terrible description lol sorry

Describe your catastrophizing. This is anxiety. Stuff like CBT helps, it's easy to find books or workbooks on it

Thank you, I have previously had several rounds of CBT with about 3 professionals and was never able to get any relief from the rumination. i think that is why i thought it was something other than anxiety. Unless I had bad therapists??
