I do wonder if Carbon Monoxide would be a pain free method and how effective it would be

Very effective if done correctly. Kills people all the time accidentally. Anecdotal information states that at a high enough level, near 12000 PPM, unconsciousness is achieved in a few breaths, and death comes a few minutes afterwards. Sounds fairly peaceful to me. At least, that's what I'm banking on. But, you need to study the method and do it correctly, because if you screw it up, you can end up a vegetable, but still alive.

I can only imagine it's the most painless, especially if you are sleeping. The story of the marines that died while sleeping in a CO2 leaked car a couple months ago suggests that the body does not struggle. It's likely to be my method of choice.

It's a good method for sure. Quick, painless, clean (if done correctly).

It is probably the most painless but has some downsides, such as you cannot use it if you live in an apartment. The gas does seep through walls and ceilings, and can kill your neighbors. I know that for a fact as I've experienced it seeping up from a garage in the house I lived in when I left a car running.
Also making a lot of carbon monoxide isn't the easiest thing to do.

My first attempt was CO, it wasn't awfully painful rather than discomfort and nausea sharp but manageable headache

Why didn't it work? What did you use, charcoal? It gave me a mild headache too when I left the car on by mistake.

It's not CO2 that is carbon dioxide. It's just CO.

This Carbon Monoxide poisoning barbecue method just sounds like a beautiful way to go to me. I'm definitely researching more into that. Sounds even more reliable and accessible than SN that's talked about a lot.

I tried the CO method. Save to say, it didn't work. The problem was it set off all the fire alarms in my house, the neighbours turned up and everything. It also set fire to a rug. Obviously, with the alarms going, the fire, and the neighbours coming round, I had to abort. It's SN or bust for me now. Personally, I wouldn't try the CO method again due to the fire risk. Not worth putting other people in danger when there's safer methods (SN).

Ive got a tent and bbqs and going to do it that way… what would make for a failed attempt? And I've got no sedative… does that matter?

I remember someone here tried it in a tent and the tent caught on fire and she got burned then she did it again we never heard more. Someone said she was successful. The risk of a fire is there.

I wouldn't put them in tent while still alight… I think you have to wait until the fire is out from what I've read…

I don't know the details of her experience but the coals are still hot enough that if anything touches them, or the bbq rests on the tent floor it might catch on fire.

Ok so I'll lay some stones on the floor of the tent for the bbq to lay on…

I tried charcoal burning a weeks ago. I burned 3kg of lump charcoal, waited for the smoke and flames to settle then transferred to a tent. I felt completely overcome by the gas, I panicked and struggled to abandon and get out of the tent. I went back in about an hour or so later, that time I fell asleep but woke with a terrible headache. The next day the headache was still there and had sharp pain behind my eye. I think it would have succeeded if SI hadn't gotten in my way. It is more peaceful than say jumping from height but less reliable I'd say

This is the method I'm most considering. It doesn't disfigure the body like a gunshot but has almost as high a success rate albeit actual death takes longer to occur so there's more chance for someone to interfere.

Plus I can bring some entertainment and get high while I wait to pass out.

Afterthought:
I should specify that using a car is the only method for CO I had researched, rereading the comments it sounds a lot less effective to use a grill? Or fire? How did this method come about? Why not use a gas powered generator indoors?

Second post script: apparently I was way misinformed about cars and modern cars are no good for CO. My bad, disregard most of my previous assertions, apparently they were wrong.

I know I would just get out of the car as soon as I felt odd.

Will burning the charcoal outside of my car and then bringing it in in a steel bucket work?
