No matter how hard I try I just can't seem to pass out. I've tried using an electrical cable and I've tried a robe tie. I create the slip knot, stick my head in it and push down, and nothing.

I've tried moving it up and down my neck, I've tried pushing down harder.

Does anyone have any advice or tips about what I could be missing? Thank you in advance!

You need to relax, if you press, you only make the neck muscles harder, I find the spot below the Adam's apple, I've tried partial, but i wake up later confused, so maybe I need something else to stay off

I'm by no means a expert but I think the fact you have to purposefully push down might mean that too much of your weight is being put onto the floor because the general idea behind hanging is that when you pass out your body goes limp and the natural weight is supposed to be enough to keep compressing your arteries

Look up where your carotid arteries are. In the diagram you can see how they run upwards towards your brain.

If you flip your hands upside down.
Tilt your head back a bit and kind of make the action of choking yourself.
Your thumbs will land under your chin right about where the arteries are.
You should be able to feel them pumping.
If you apply some pressure.

This took me awhile to properly find. My left side was easier and more dominant then my right side for whatever reason.

For me personally higher on the neck. Tight under the chin. Is better because it avoids the Adam's apple and somewhat the wind pipe.

If you find them it takes around 10 pounds of pressure for 20 seconds.
And you should pass out.
(Not 100% on this You can fact check it)
(Times and force may vary)

Numerous times when I would feel my
face/cheeks getting flush.
The sides of my head throbbing and warm.
Dizziness but not passing out.
Nose making a weird noise.

With my tests I've been doing for
Partial/swb
(will also be adding old meds/booze/drugs)
A slipknot can work fine.
Personally I'm using a "Taut line hitch"

What is your anchor point?
How long/thick is the "rope"?
How far is the distance between the anchor point and the ground?
Height / weight can be factors.

What do you mean by "push down"
Completely go limp and go downward?
or are you pushing forward and down.?

There are quite a few threads on this and everyone has had different experiences.
I'll just comment on my personal experiences. And see if that can help out.

Do these symptoms mean that you've hit the carotid arteries & you're on the verge of passing out? Or that you are not hitting the carotid arteries?

I did find the arteries at that time but i wasn't applying enough pressure.
from my experience if you start getting way to much head throbbing for longer then 30 seconds.
And still havnt passed out.
Blood is still flowing.
But just having a hard time going through so its building up creating that head pounding.
Super dizzy , tingling, warm etc.
When i tried night night. I made funny noises with my nose and SI kicked in.

I think it varies from person to person but "technically" speaking it shouldn't take more the 15 seconds with the right amount of pressure to pass out.

I used my rubber gym strap and pulled like crazy and high on my neck I had the same sensations but not as pounding intense or as long. Passed out not sure how long 20 seconds.?
I also hyper ventilated a little as well.
Before hand.

Last month I had a failed attempt unfortunately so make sure your anchor point is strong.
I tested it many times weight wise.
I'm assuming i thrashed around? and snapped my door knob. Or my wire got slack from a bad knot?
I have no idea. Very unfortunate.

Now I have everything almost set up again and made some changes. Resuppying on the last things today.
