can you turn a blank gun into a real gun?

is this a real thing or nah? i know realisting 1:1 replicas of guns exist, can you turn those into a real fonctional gun that shoots real bullets? am i stupid for asking this question?

It's possible however not only illegal but you'll also probably blow your hand off due to the barrel.

Ho question is ever stupid, however trying to turn a blank gun into a real one is possible, if a person is a gunsmith.

Besides that, the answer is a huge NO, for a regular person like you, me and so many others.

Side bar note, I grew up in the middle of nowhere with wolves, coyotes, rattlesnakes and so much more and I have seen gun barrels that had blown up and if a person was either firing and/or standing close by, it could be a VERY messy situation. Death? Nope, just mangled up and in hellish pain.

Please get this idea out of your head.

Oh, and the part, wherever you are in the legal, read police, aspect.

In that really tragic case- the gun was always real. The bullets should all have been blanks and dummy rounds. The horror situation in that case was that a real bullet found its way to the set and was loaded alongside the blank/ dummy rounds accidentally.
