Yes, unless it's a thin computer cable or unless you jump into the noose from a height. If you don't drop into the noose from a height, AND it's a thick computer cable, it should work. Make sure what you're suspending from is also strong enough. If you jump from any height, you could easily be applying a force of 2-5x your weight or even more depending on how flexible the support is etc which could snap even a thick cable with your sudden deceleration

Cables break and are not advised for hanging.

People, there are threads about each method on this forum, and OP has been here for almost 2 years.

It's better to get a strong 10mm nylon rope to make sure that you succeed instead of risking it with a cable.
