  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I don't keep up with the changing rules about what we can and can't post, but I'm pretty sure I'm in safe territory here.

Just wanted to know how long SN takes to have an effect. I want to be sure I won't be found, so, say there were some woods a 10 min walk from my family home - would I have enough time to get there? Do I take the SN before or after getting there? Or, can I take the SN back at my place(I have flatmates so don't want to be there) which is 1-1.5 hours away from my family home? I may be overthinking this, but I want to get it right.

Also, in terms of antiemetics, I don't have any...

Any alternatives?

Thanks

I'm sorry life has brought you to this point.

I think the effects of SN can come on pretty quickly. They advise you to be sitting or lying down when taking it. There are posts of people here taking less than the full dose, wandering around and quickly passing out and hitting their heads. I don't think it's something to take and then try and walk somewhere.

From memory- I think they say on average around 20mins to pass out- although you're likely to be experiencing the effects during that time.

Have you read the megathread on SN and Stan's guide? I REALLY think you need to do your own research rather than just trust the responses you get here. I believe the most recent PPH just recommends an antiemetic and SN. The other 'luxury' items seem to have been cut out. I think it has to be up to the individual though- read what each thing does and consider what sounds best. I'm assuming people have succeeded with or without a number of the items.

I think it may actually be more helpful to look at why people likely fail... Most of the time- they haven't followed the protocol- so it does seem important to familiarize yourself with it. Seems like people fail the most when they: don't fast, drink alcohol, drink less than the required dose of SN, make the mix with too much water, don't have a backup glass(es) mixed (in case they vomit the first.) Get discovered and 'saved.'

Antiemetics are definitely recommended but people have succeeded without them. It's really your choice/risk. People have still been sick- even after taking them to be fair. Think that's why they recommend the backup glass(es.) I'm not too sure about meto alternatives but I expect other people will be...

Based on people posting here after taking SN, it seems like they pass out like 10 - 15 minutes after taking it. Then death will take a few hours potentially.

Wouldn't be wandering around after taking SN, even if it's a 10 minute walk.
