See if you have been giving slow release tablets but you take them out capsule and swallow it without capsule. Does that then mean its immediate release?

So just to clarify it would be immediate release then?Yes, the meds are absorbed all at once
So just to clarify it would be immediate release then?
Ok it probably was a stupid question I asked. But had to ask anyway. ThanksYes, immediate release
Because it isn't the capsule that makes it slow release, it is how the drug is made that makes it slow release. It is to do with the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of the drug. The capsule is designed to get it past the stomach acid. You can get slow release tablets that aren't in a capsule. Think of it like - you can get ibuprofen in a capsule, or tablet. They both work the same.Could you explain to me why?
Any OD Carries a low chance of success and high chance of permanent damageCan you od on slow release then or it that the point to stop ppl doing it?
Yeah I get that its unrealistic to ctb from od. But could ppl still od on slow release if all taken at once?Ok I get you, so if swallowed without the capsule it would still be slow release? It looks like wee small white balls when I take it out capsule

Like say for example you took 2g of slow release out the capsules and swallowed all at once would that cause an od or would it just release a high amount of it over the course of the slow release?Yeah I get that its unrealistic to ctb from od. What drug is it?
Why is it not recommended? Or did you just mean od in general is not recommended?yes it's immediate release. it's not recommended.
I get you, a few different answers on the thread so I still dont know what one it is! slow release poured into drink = immediate release. Or if it's slow release regardless. Do you know answer to question about if ppl have od on slow release before?I forget we were on a suicide forum

Yeah I totally understand that I od on Wednesday night there. Was just generally wondering if with slow release capsules if you take them out capsule does it make them immediate release. Always had immediate realese but now got slow release. My si for hanging would be to bad. Seems much easier to take a bunch of pills or drink something fast. I would end up doing the hanging wrong aswell, never looked into that method but I get why your saying it.all I know is, overdosing if not with a sure fire substances like N or SN, is generally a bad idea. the risks of ending up disabled instead are too high. even reliable things like SN are only 70% effective so don't take harmful risks.
if you don't have access to anything, there are still better methods like full suspension hanging.
As said, it will be slow release regardless of capsule or no capsule. Slow release just means it is slower to release and slower to leave your system. Whether it makes a difference with OD, I am way too tired to think the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics right now to get a logical answer. In theory it is still possible but regardless you are more likely to get permanent organ damage including heart damage, using propranolol to OD, as with any drug, than succeedYeah I totally understand that I od on Wednesday night there.
