campsites for charcoal method

Hi, I've been looking into the charcoal method using my car and one thing that has been on my mind was the location. Since I will be using my car, I need to find an isolated space that is away from the public view but looking for one has not been very successful. I am currently living near the west side of LA and most of the campsites either allow fires or don't have a drive in camping space. Any recommendations are highly appreciated.

I don't know if this is possible in your situation, but have you thought of wild camping? You could just stop on the side of the road somewhere, walk off for a while and set up your tent there maybe. That may also help prevent people from finding you too early.
