Maybe part of the reason so many people automatically jump to the conclusion that any person who commits suicide is / must be "mentally ill" so that they tell themselves they are off the hook and don't have to expend any energy towards helping anyone... Selfish.

They don't want to bother providing Real help/kindness or being there for the person suffering but when that person commits suicide, Suddenly they "care"... ?!

So many people in human history have committed suicide to free themselves from a horrible life/reality... mainly because of intolerable conditions. How exactly is that "crazy"?!?

There are plenty of reasons to Leave this world that are valid...

Why don't you have this purple moon image set as your avatar? It matches your name, why not use it? :)

Mental health care/help in UK is virtually nil. What 'help' there is on NHS is an absolute shower and is very little use.
Go down private help and that's very mixed too. Very little help full stop out there, this is why forums like this are a lifeline.
Agree.

Did you see Boris Johnson being asked about an increase of suicides at one of the last briefings? His only advice was helplines

I think mental health has been so poorly dealt with in the UK, and really under reported on. So many suicides. :I

I didn't, thanks will check out.

It was last Thursday. I think he did encourage people to go to A&E and that's why they'd done so much to reduce the amount of COVID cases. The major point though was that they'd put more money into helplines and that's where suicidal people should go

Doesn't suprise me the Tories have been decimating MH services since they got into power. Yeah it wasn't brilliant under labour but I always got counseling within a couple of weeks, a month at most. That was when I 'just' had anxiety.

Now you get an anti depressant, and a leaflet to call a number for horrendous local 'services' if you say you're suicidal.

Can't remember where I read it, whether it was on here or twitter. But a grieving mother who lost her child was waiting for counseling some several months later and that's just ridiculous.

Anyone who is a 'burden' and costs the government money, be it the unemployed, mentally ill or eldery are shit on by the Tory government.
