Call me a nihilistic doomerchud, but the world—yes, ALL of it—is a lost cause. We have to start over

The small, yet unfortunately exceedingly influential, portion of humanity has fucked everything up. Not only is society an inhospitable environment now, but the whole world at large is becoming inhospitable too due to climate change, unchecked disposal of waste, and an unwillingness to find better sources of energy that isn't coal and oil. We need to wipe out everything and let evolution occur once more, hoping that the next batch of intelligent life is wiser than us

Let this be my villain origin story before I build the mega death ray

Why would you allow evolution to have another shot, when it did such a shitty job the first time? Who's to say it doesn't produce something even worse than this deranged hairless ape species? 🤷‍♂️

Earth turning into mars wouldn't be such a tragedy tbh…

tbh, it's kind of depressing to imagine killing every animal just to kill humans. it doesn't seem very fair to have them suffer. while life might be able to come back in a few million years, i feel bad that every animal will be extinct. nukes are basically the same thing, except they would make the world worse because the radiation and cause birth defects and diseases.

At first, I had the same perspective, but at this point, I feel like humans have interfered with nature to the point where, for these animals, they aren't going to live long anyways. If they were to be killed off by unchecked greed, then so be it—not like politicians are going to stop because a bunch of us tell them to. However, I'd rather them all be able to die painlessly and swiftly rather than force them to undergo a long life where they have to deal with an environment that's no longer suitable for them

For instance, aquatic life that rely on coral reefs. With the way the planet is heating up, reefs are rapidly dying off, and by extension, the life relying on that reef lose shelter, food, etc. It feels like a drawn out death to me

Unfortunately, the entire planet's ecosystem is something that humanity has left a stain that can't be cleaned up

They're already suffering. Even without any human interference, the suffering that occurs naturally out in the wild is heartbreakingly cruel.

But unlike humans, they have no option to voluntarily opt out of such an unfair game.
