I'm still hoping to find a partner for this, so I'll let this bake for awhile.
However, assuming I fail to find one and I have to do it alone. Can you recommend any remote locations (for example forests) in EU in which I could assemble it without being bothered or observed?
If you know any deserted areas, please let me know.

I'm in the US. So I can't say.
In my opinion too many things could go wrong with a guillotine, the blade could get stuck, the blade might not come down with enough force.
I don't know, but that sounds like a scary way to go.
Either way I hope for your best outcome.

If it is developed correctly (which I plan to do) and tested properly ( which I also plan to do) it might be the best method available.

This sounds very interesting, do you have some sort of ikea instruction leaflet?

I do not. I plan to go to a custom furniture shop and ask them to build me one. I plan to tell them it's for a play about the French Revolution. I will tell them no blade, so I don't look suspicious(they probably won't deal with sharp metal anyway). Afterwards, I plan to get the blade done separately, probably tell them that I have a farm and I want to have a mini slaughter machine.
However, there were some plans online last time I checked if you want to go solo.
I would love to have a partner in this, giving the complexity. It doesn't have to be a pact and we can build our guillotines are separate points, so we don't feel pressured to ctb simultaneously.
But it would be really helpful to team up with someone, there are many things that need to be discussed, tested, brainstormed etc. I do have a degree in engineering, but when it comes to this kind of work I am a little bit in the dark.

I just though of something and it sounds utterly macabre, but what the hell. If I find a partner in this (even more partners, why not?) the first one to go can be assisted by the other one, in a win-win scenario. Why win win? For the First-One-To-Go : he can make sure than in case the blade gets stuck or something, the other one can fix it. For the Second-One-To-Go: he gets a human neck based test of the guillotine. Assuming previously we would have tested them only with heads of dead animals (I assume butcheries can sell us some pig heads), this would actually constitute a real test.
Win-Win.

this sounds like a real tough way to go, way thought out though I will credit you that !!!!What are you going to do if your head lives on 30 seconds more looking at your lifeless body? Not that I would know your head lives 30 seconds more but I imagine a quick slice like that the brain function and eyes would still be working? I dont know man I tell you brutal !!!!

That just cannot be. This method is a more extreme version of hanging - as it cuts oxygen/blood to the brain. Look at partial suspension hanging videos- it only take a few seconds before they lose consciousness. From lostallhope regarding partial suspention hanging: "Interrupting the blood flow to the brain causes swift unconsciousness (in 15 seconds or less)".
There was a user here (look for my previous thread) who looked at videos of beheading and he said that it was lights out immediately.
Plus, it's not like all the other methods are a breeze. I would definitely choose a hitman with a Kalashnikov if I knew I could trust him. There's just too much risk and pain associated with the other methods.

I view it as the least worst method (pseudo-)available to me. I am ready to change my mind however if I'm confronted with better evidence and presented with better options.

Yes but thats just a user no scientist are you really sure its lights out at the severance ? It is one of the most elaborate suicide methods I have come across but Im curious to the previous poster why so badly do you want to die by guillotine ??n Surely there are simper methods - how are you going to transport it assuming it will be in separate parts during the journey and how could one man alone carry it also if you arrive somewhere how are you going to avoid attention giving that there are humans all over the place!!!?

Like what? Trying to build up the courage to jump, in order to scream and experience regret and then hope I don't survive the fall and live crippled? Hang myself and experience torturing suffocation while I shake my legs in agony? Drink the horrible tasting Nembutal and hope I don't freak out after the first sip?
I don't know. Maybe I just lack courage. After all, that's why we're all here. The feeling of hesitation and the search for the right method. I also lack access to guns.

Surely inert gas asphyxiation would be a simpler and definitely less gruesome way to go? When I'm ready to go, nitrogen will definitely be my method

Keep in mind depending on the country suicide pacts can carry serious jails espically for completed suicide. Definatly a top consideration.

Looks like there's a detailed book on how to build one. ISBN: 9780399506208. (not quoting the name to avoid search engine indexing for this website).
I'm feeling lucky.

Every time I see this thread, I'm reminded of this old joke....

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon in the midst of the French Revolution the revolting citizens led a priest, a drunkard and an engineer to the guillotine. They ask the priest if he wants to face up or down when he meets his fate. The priest says he would like to face up so he will be looking towards heaven when he dies. They raise the blade of the guillotine and release it. It comes speeding down and suddenly stops just inches from his neck. The authorities take this as divine intervention and release the priest.

The drunkard comes to the guillotine next. He also decides to die face up, hoping that he will be as fortunate as the priest. They raise the blade of the guillotine and release it. It comes speeding down and suddenly stops just inches from his neck. Again, the authorities take this as a sign of divine intervention, and they release the drunkard as well.

Next is the engineer. He, too, decides to die facing up. As they slowly raise the blade of the guillotine, the engineer suddenly says, "Hey, I see what your problem is ..."

For some reason your obsession with gullotine got me infected aswell. I assume you're from France/French Switzerland? I'd like to participate in the project, however my resources are limited

If I can pull this off, this would probably be my method. It is instant kill, and I remember somewhere that someone built his own, rigged it with a timer, took some sleeping pills and gets in position. One of the top of my list, but will just be a fantasy of mine.

Please also add me to the group conversation about this method. I'm very interested in helping out. I'd be willing to donate some money to have access to it once it's built, so we can do it together. Maybe we can have a bunch of us donate/help out then do it in a group. You'd have to do some precautions so we don't get caught by the police, but I don't think they can do anything to you even if you do get caught. Don't think it's illegal to witness suicide, but definitely worthy of more research. Just putting the thought out there.

Well I'm in but fact is, this is an old thread and the OP was last seen around 23 july '18. It's a great idea but we need new fresh stimulating blood to create. To not even talk about hi-tech hands which I lack.

Damn, didn't notice the dates on these posts. Yeah, I currently don't live alone so I don't have the means to build one. If someone reading has the means and determination to build one I'm in to help them.
