Last night I saw the movie '"The Whale" and I was so moved. I cried a lot. My God, this movie is just incredible... Then I wanted to know more about Brendan Fraser.
Did you know he almost died when filming "The Mummy" ? This stupid director hanged him. WTF !? At the time, actors really took incredible risks. And later, Brendan had other filming accidents. I'm glad he won the Oscar for "The Whale". You can see his sincerity and his kindness. I wish him to do other great movies

Wow, I didn't know that, no. I'd heard he'd had a tough time in other ways. I believe he made a sexual assault allegation towards a guy high up in the film industry years ago.

I agree, it's an incredibly moving film. Just thinking about some of the lines in it can make me cry.

But yeah, I think there have been all sorts of accidents in pretty well known films:

One of the saddest I heard about was a stunt double for Daniel Radcliffe for Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows. He ended up paralysed after the stunt went wrong. Even though they must be aware there are risks, you'd imagine they would be properly mitigated on a big budget film. Poor guy. Awful for everyone really. I doubt they intend to injure anyone. Just bad calculations or carelessness.
