Thank you..
I think optimally I'd be visiting the one friend I have irl, but for that I'd have to get myself to be presentable and such.

What do you struggle with? Getting up, showering, brushing teeth?

It can be hard to do the first step 🫂 Is there a sensory issue surrounding showering? Maybe just getting the water running could be a first step?

Honestly, Im not sure why I cant do it and I think that makes me feel the worst about it. It just takes so much to just get out of bed and do it. I dont think I have a sensory issue with showering, honestly the water feels quite nice on my skin and my hair isnt long enough currently to feel too terrible while wet.

Sometimes it's the brain chemistry not working the way it should... Are you medicated?

478
Btw, I want to emphasize that you manage to come on here and interact despite the pain you're in. It's already a lot 🫂

Do you think calling your friend could be an alternative?

I think my brain chemistry is likely to be alright, to be honest, I'm not medicated and any psychologist Ive ever talked to has seemed to believe I dont need to be.
Calling might work although that's somehow more anxiety-inducing than meeting up, I can't tell by voice what people actually mean...
Thanks for the understanding and the hug🫂

Shouldn't a psychiatrist have a say in this? Idk it just bugs me that they don't consider such an important functional impact as worthy of considering medication... (don't mind my rambling)

Ah I understand. Used to have this issue as well (much less now, although I'm still not a fan of calling). I was trying to propose an alternative, in case getting up and showering was just too much for you 🫂 texting your friend might also be a way to keep in touch, it won't bring the certainty of irl interactions but still a possible alternative (if I'm overbearing with this, do tell me, I tend to be quite dense)
Thanks for the understanding and the hug🫂
No problem, I'm sure other people here would understand as well. Have you explored the other forums? You can open a venting thread whenever you feel like it, people are usually empathetic!

Not sure. I dont really think Ive ever seen a psychiatrist except for the one that decided I was feminine enough to be getting HRT. And Im pretty sure that one went into retirement shortly after I got that HRT..

We're texting quite often at least! Also, its alright, you arent overstepping any boundaries. As for making a venting thread, I always start with things like that and then halfway through writing decide whatever I've got going on really isn't worth annoying everyone over..
And like, consciously, I know probably nobody would mind, but I'm worried about being vulnerable publicly.

I see. I'm glad you at least managed to get HRT before they retired...
It can be hard to find a psychiatrist so I understand if that's too much for you.

I doubt you'd be annoying anyone (people can just ignore I guess?). And what's going on for you matters, even if some people might be going through worse (what does it even mean to go through worse?).

I understand fearing vulnerability. Whether you choose to be vulnerable or not, we'll be here, counting away with you 🫂

All okay to not know what to say!

We'll see, I like to think "don't expect anything but let yourself get surprised". I do hope this seed will take shape but if it doesn't, well I'm glad I got to talk to you anyway!

And no problem! 🫂 (I should be focusing on work, really. But I have the attention span of a fly on meth 😅)
