Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

664 what kind of personal are you working on Echo?
Me and some friends decided to start developing a fighting game! Since I'm the only developer in the group and didn't pursue game dev as a career path, I've been studying a lot of new things. But I feel like it's going to be a really cool pet project to keep me busy during my free time.

Thank you! I'm actually a developer by trade so the programming side is fine, what I haven't really touched since college is game development specifically. Any resources on that front would be really appreciated!

also...loved the song xD

the thing i linked is the base what is used from a friend of mine with his education. its the step by step but you have to do the research itself. each project will introduce the next step in game design. so there is a project were you recreate wolfstein 3d but a project further is making your own raytracing. its really going into the funtamentals of game design. its designed for people that dont know shit to start with it. its part of the 42 circullum

Thank you, I'll give it a read when I get the chance! I've already made some progress on my prototype to the point where it's playable (not necessarily good, but playable). Yesterday I even got peer to peer working and started testing things like delay and rollback.

that friend of mine that i was talking about works now for the swedish company that makes warhamer 40k darktide. forgot the name of it.

well done tho. i know game design you need to be wizard in math. without math its lets say impossible.
but peer to peer and start testing aleady sounds very promising

Yeah, it's been progressing well! Since we have no intention of making money from it there's no pressure if it takes a while or gets stuck along the way. I'm just happy to have something that genuinely excites me to work on, I don't usually feel motivated to code outside of work hours.
