• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Autism spectrum?
Where I live there are specialised centers for people who cannot live independently while giving them access to a social life, activities and so on. But idk how it works where you live.

I understand that this situation is very hard for everyone involved...

I think there might also be programs to help families deal with and adapt to some behaviours?
Yeah ig, she's not doing that badly and already kind of wants to die and I don't see her thinking those centers are better than not existing, she's fully intelligent, she just can't deal with sensory overload and such, if she can't operate independently it's pretty much on society because there's nothing innate about her that means she can't.

My family has used some of those, but they're kind of controversial and she hates them because she's mostly fine she just needs family to not be fucking awful to her. I'm tired of dealing with grown adults who act like they have the comprehension of children when it comes to not hurting people. Idk like the programs exist but if she ends up in one I want to scream because she's mostly fine, and I've been around the autism help types (I'm autistic too as is every other sibling of mine) and they're insufferable and generally the worst people you know. Sorry, I'm not questioning your motivations I know you're just trying to help but ugh why is the world like this

I meant individualised family programs that aim to help family members to understand how their loved one thinks and works and to help them work around their sensory hyper/hyposensibilities (does that make sense? I know more about the schizophrenia ones but I'm pretty sure there are some for autism as well). The person on the spectrum doesn't have to change.

And yeah, as a society we should do more to be inclusive, towards everyone really
