Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Basically had my boss announce in front of the entire meeting today that I wasn't meeting certain quotas and then had the group spend thirty minutes going through possible methods and procedures I could do. (Can't tell you what industry I am in because I don't want to doxx myself)

I just felt utterly humiliated and felt like it was just a passive aggressive way to attack me (I know my boss doesn't like me and is super insecure).

What pissed me off the most is that I have been picking up the slack after someone was randomly fired for legal reasons and have been covering people that are sick.

Idk- I just feel burnt out and depressed anymore. Like it's already been a hard few months and I have been depressed and debating about CBTing and then this happens.

It's a woman lol.

But yeah- this is the second time she's openly implied that I am not doing a good job after months of busting my ass, being a team player, going to other coworkers for help when I needed some assistance. I feel like I have been doing a good job and that's what pisses me off the most.

I'm just sick of it and have started applying to new jobs but the market is such trash right now that I doubt I will get anything.

Honestly this workplace has been toxic from the get go- there's tons of problems with senior staff undermining new employees and constant turnover.

It just sucks

3 words, FUCK THAT JOB, if you are picking up the slack when the company is firing people, and they are mad that everything isnt done as soon as they want, stop helping them, dont cover for others, dont do the guy who got fired's job, just do what they "assign" you and that it. if they want to be disrespectful, show them that its a two was street, even if its not directly and its just the ways i mentioned.

sorry they treat you so badly, if you can, find a different place to work, be sure you have the job before quitting there too. better days will come soon, i know you dont know me, but my on-site dms are open if you are ever stressed and need to rant 💙

Does anyone here like their job?

I'd think almost all would say no, or not working

Yeah- I ended up calling out today for a mental health day after yesterday and getting zero sleep. I just need a day before going in and dealing with everything.

I spent all of last week working in a mask too because I was really sick but didn't want to call out- now after Wednesday I'm like "fuck that".

I started this job mid-September and knew that I had made a mistake by October.

The office hasn't answered my email and maybe I will be in trouble but I don't care. I've only taken a few sick days- one when I had a minor concussion and one when I was really sick. Idk if they can fire me over it.

No that's in part why everyone is debating about ctbing.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. I dread every time having to come into work, it's like walking on eggshells because just one mistake can put a target on your back. I myself don't know how much longer I'm capable of putting up with it.

Public shaming and creating embarrassment with the purpose of inflicting shame is something that would reflect negatively on your boss, not on you. Like a rabid narcissist that starts a fight with someone below their weight, the resulting shame falls largely on the predator. Whoever seeks to put you down, is already below you.

Sounds like you have a solid EEOC complaint and impending employment claim. I would contact an attorney immediately as it appears that they're trying to get you to quit, or finding a way to offload you.

If you were truly underperforming, your employer or HR would have discussed that with you privately, with suggestions and recommendations for corrective action, and it would likely be the case that multiple peer reviews reflected negatively on record.

This actually happened once before but in reverse in one case I'm familiar with ...
I remember there was one case where one employee was led to believe that he was underperforming and was chastised behind closed doors for this alleged underperformance, which included an allegation that he was letting his team down. That backfired. The employee, bearing an authentic sense of shame and regret from being misled into believing that he was underperforming in being a burden to his team, consequently confronted his team in an apologetic form and sent out a group email to all of his peers apologizing for his underperformance. This was met with negative results as all recipients were confused since there was no issue, and people were wondering what he was talking about it. It was later discovered that employee was admonished capriciously in a mindfuck and there were no actual complaints from his peers, it was all manufactured.

Consult with an employer attorney immediately, and do not tell anyone, as you may be entitled to significant compensation.
