For me it is the " God of small things". The writer is controversial but book is the best one I have read. What is your favourite book.?

This is so hard.

The Quiet Room by Lori Schiller is a memorable first person account with second hand witness accounts on schizophrenia.

The Chronicles of Malus Darkblade because I love Warhammer Fantasy and these were my introductory books to the lore.

Both Child Thief and Slewfoot by Brom.

Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, for me its like a guide, a treasure, the more I perceive now (present moment) the more I am with my true self and experiecning a life, every moment of now is amplified.. If I was healthy I would try to live by this guide because I believe I would not have regrets of now living a life

that's my best friend's favourite book of all time! i also loved it and thought it was practically perfect. really love how evocatively Roy writes about rape... chilling.
my top 5 books of all time (when limited to one per author) are probably:
  • Cosmicomics by Italo Calvino
  • Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace
  • Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman
  • The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
  • The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac

Novels:
Dracula, because it's a fantastic classic.
Annihilation and House of Leaves, because of the surreality.

Short Stories:
Mephisto in Onyx by Harlan Ellison, because it's thrilling and stressful.
Masquerade of a Dead Sword by Thomas Ligotti, because it's incredibly unique.

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig is a big comfort read to me. At the moment I'm reading The Count of Monte Cristo and I'm loving it.

Great taste. I love L'Étranger by Albert Camus. I remember we had to read it at school and I loved it.

1. Of human Bondage - Somerset Maugham
2. Krapp's last tape - Samuel Beckett
3. Blindness - Jose Saramago
4. Collected short stories 5 volume set - Somerset Maugham
5. A house for Mr. Biswas - V.S Naipaul

I've read "The God of small things". It is indeed as one review pointed out - a book whose pages are "dripping with sadness". I can't bear to read more than a few at a time.

Not my favorite book, but one I cannot forget is A Prayer For Owen Meany. The main character believes he was put on earth for a specific purpose from God and that details some wild events in his life. The story is narrated from the perspective of his best friend as they grow up together. I had to read the book for English class, and it has always stuck with me.
