  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

What is the best place with SN? Obviously needs somewhere to be private, calm etc ... I was thinking hotel. But it's horrible that someone still have to find you. And I worry about bad press affecting the hotel's business - does that happen? I guess one way to prepare whoever has to find you would be to schedule an email saying to expect to find you in there dead. So that police can have that responsibility or whoever does can be mentally prepared.

If I lay under some covers to fall unconscious under, will I thrash about whilst unconscious and kick them off? I guess I could try and hope they stay.

I want to avoid doing it somewhere where it will cause issue for other people who had nothing to do with it.

Any suggestions on how to migate the harm? Thanks.

I have the same issue. I worry about the person who might find me in a hotel and wandering if it will affect the hotels business or the future use of that particular hotel room.

I don't want to cause issues for people who have nothing to do with it either. It's just stressful deciding on the best place to do it at.

It won't. I know a couple of people who work in the hotel industry. I don't want to be morbid, but people die in hotels all the time. They see a lot of natural deaths, suicides, and sometimes murders.

It's unlikely that your suicide at the hotel will be reported to the press, unless you are famous or do something to draw attention to yourself like jump out the window or blow your brains out. The hotel staff is trained to be very discreet when it comes to a guest dying on their property. They work hard to keep something like this out of the news.

The manager on duty will call the police.
After they investigate, the EMTS will take your body down the service elevator if there is one.

The bigger hotel chains have a protocol in place for what to do when a guest dies on their property, and they have insurance. They will hire a company to deep clean the room and replace anything that is damaged. They will rent the room out again and future guests won't even know that anything happened.

I was also worried about someone finding my body. Then I realized that whether I ctb or die of natural causes, someone will have to find my body. That's just how it is. There is no way around that.

You could schedule a delayed email to the local police telling them you are dead and the name of the hotel and room number. Schedule it to be sent right before checkout, so they find you instead of the maid. If you change your mind, don't forget to cancel the email.

That makes me feel better about it.
Thank you
