Benzo Taper

I was tapered too fast by my doc from a benzo. Had to reinstate/updose (3.5 month taper from 1.5mg clonazepam got down to .25) and still having lots of problems.

It has given me thoughts of ctb.

One doc I consulted with said it could take a year to stabilize. It has been since early Feb 2023.

Can't go through another taper again. Got severe myoclonic jerks that are like seizures and the benzo is keeping them at bay.

Lost my old psych and scared of the new one.

Not much I can do in the way of helping your situation and I feel truly sorry for you.

Best advice is to be honest and attempt to sway them by saying they can test your levels and everything.

I've been on lorazepam for sleep for 4 months and it barely works anyways and I'm terrified to taper

If you decide to, go low and slow. Don't let your doc know or they'll be an idiot about tapering you.

The recommended reduction is 5-10% of the pill weight every 2-4 weeks as tolerated. You'll need a jewelers scale to weigh the pills. Look up Benzodiazpine Information Coalition or Benzodiazpine Alliance. If I'd only known about all this before I decided to taper, I never would have.

Stress can cause hair loss. Benzo withdrawal can cause it, too.

I had to tell my psych about Ashton I think she was just planning to slowly taper using the liquid but I can't come off it right now. I wish I'd never started it tbh. I'm so fucked.
Maybe I'll skip the valium then and just do the liquid taper idk. Shit situation.

4 months isn't that long. You could do fine with Valium or liquid. Everyone is unique.

True, I just am not stabilizing or getting better sleep really so 4 will turn into 6 and so on. I wish I could come off it now to save myself in the future but I'm not on any antidepressants (tried so many and all give terrible side effects)
