dosage of different benzos arent the same, you should add the medication name to your numbers.
@AnonymousL It depends a lot on the doctor, sadly benzos are stigmatized, so not all doctors might even prescribe them to you.
Don't get me wrong though, there's nothing bad about them, you just have to be careful like with any other anti-depressant, anti-psychotic or depressant medication to be aware of the side effects and watch out for dependance.
Most doctors will not prescribe them to you if your problems come across as something where you'd need a permanent solution for, since they are primarily used either short term or on an occasional basis such as in my case where I only take them when my anxiety is especially bad so that I cannot do anything other than exist and suffer.
Panic disorder would be one thing, or managing the worst days of anxiety, usually they're not prescribed for insomnia as there are other options.
You could ask them for a small sample package first, that's what I did when I didn't really like the side effects of Lorazepam, I asked if I could try Alprazolam since I've heard positive things about it.
They gave me 10 pills x 0.5mg which I used to try out how my body reacted to it as well as determine the right dose for myself.
Eventually determining that 1mg was perfect for me (0.5 didn't do anything at all and 1.5 did the same as 1.0 to get rid of anxiety and just made me more dizzy).
Then I went again to specifically ask for the 1mg pills and now I got 50 of that that will be enough for the next 6mo for me.
TLDR you could "try it out" first with a very small sample, then go again and tell them they worked well for you at xy dose. (Though I wouldn't go for a super high dose, that might sound off, imo 1mg alpra / 2mg Lora are pretty normal "medium" dosages, see the
benzo comparison table for others)
Or look up your pharmacies online, see in what sizes they have them, most likely just letting your doctor give you the lower dose you'll still have enough to ctb if that's your sole purpose for getting them.
The Lorazepam I got first were only 1mg pills and they were 50 pills. Given that you'd want roughly 25 - 30mg of Lorazepam that's plenty.
Oh I forgot to mention,... the 25 - 30mg are for completely knocking yourself out and ensuring deep sleep good enough to ctb via a cardiac switch drug, obviously if you just take it for comfort with SN you don't have to take that much at all.
Such a heavy dose will totally knock you out essentially coma-like.
For anxiety suppression & general drowsiness I'd suggest you look up dosage recommendations on psychonaut wiki and take a medium dose before you actually ctb to determine if you really want to be that sedated or if you prefer to feel like yourself in your last moments, only using it to fight anxiety.
Some side effects I had on Lora included seeing double, feeling like I was dreaming, short term memory loss, feeling dizzy...
The side effects aren't the same with every specific medication and can differ from person to person, and of course they're dose dependant, so yea, I'd definitely say try it out first to see how you feel.
