Being careful sharing sources

Just incase anyone isn't already aware, IC is still down, and it's not a crazy assumption to make that they may not be coming back.
Given the nature of the team behind IC and their other site, I'm hopeful that this is only temporary, and they may be back under another name in the future.
In the meantime, this leaves us with only really one other reliable source on the clearweb - and they unfortunately only ship to the USA.

I think we all need to remember that with this remaining source, and if IC do come back under another name, that we need to be CAREFUL who we're giving this information to.
Literally anyone can make an account here and make a post asking for sources - Without some kind of history here, there really is no telling whether they're asking for genuine purposes. Obviously, this information is getting into the wrong hands, with the removal of previous sources and now IC too.

With that in mind and in line with site rules - Do not post pictures of your product with source information visible. Do not share source info publicly. Do not share links with new accounts, or accounts with little/no post history, and do not share links with anyone you're not 100% sure is genuine.

If you're about to disagree with me, yes of course it sucks that genuinely suicidal people may have to wait a little bit/spend some time doing their own research prior to gaining access to these sources and I'm not disputing that in the slightest. But, if it means that these sources are kept safe, then it's a no brainer. I really do not think we're far off SN becoming as elusive as N, especially if we aren't careful moving forward.

Where I live it used to be really easy to access sn through a very famous marketplace, but as it's becoming more well known and reported, it was banned from that marketplace and now you only find it on the shops site, and they can ask you why you're buying it etc so it's really important to take care on who we share sources with and how we do it

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I may be new here but I think if SN were to become as elusive people may feel the need to resort to selfish methods of ctb. I personally would not be able to follow through on selfish method of ctb. I just wish people would let us ctb with dignaty and not be such a taboo like if someones life is hopeless per say a fatal medical condition or their quailty of life is unbearable it should be exceptable for people to ctb on their own tearms. But that would be to much to ask from most people who haven't had their lives turned upside down completely. Sorry this got a bit rambley but what im trying to say is if things get restricted people will get more desprate and desprate people sometimes do drasitic things they noramly wouldn't do.

Exactly.. And it's sad that any of this even needs to be considered but if SN becomes completely unavailable, people are going to end up in a much worse position than if they had waited a week or so to be given the source yk

Absolutely it will, the team behind IC knew what they were doing and I would be very shocked if they hadn't planned or prepared for something like this, hopefully it's just a domain issue but either way, I'm sure they will be back somehow.

You guys took a chance on me - I was given the American source within my first days - and I myself DM'ed so many who asked for sources....I thought it only fair to give back, to others who need it as much as me. Now I wonder if I inadvertently contributed to this problem...
How can you know? If a rat really wants to find out sources they can invest a week or so coming up with a sob story. There is no way to tell who is genuine and who is not. /the thought that SN can disappear just like N has...it creates a pit in my stomach. So many wretched souls with no escape forced to suffer here.
It saddens me.

I probably haven't been as cautious as I could have been either, and that's the thing.. there really isn't a sure fire way of knowing, unfortunately. And you're absolutely right, if someone wants to rat us out bad enough, they'll put in the time to do so. But it certainly won't do us any harm to make it a lot more difficult for those types of people. Perhaps if we all made sure that any accounts we share a source with have an account older than a month or two, a decent post history, and decent contributions to others, for example. This would give those with the sources at least a semi-decent chance at being able to verify the person requesting the source is genuine, or at least their footprint is.

Ultimately, everything like this is going to be temporary, but the more careful we are as a community, the longer we may be able to keep these sources safe. It certainly wouldn't hurt to try

I thank you for the contribution and support the intention of reluctance to talk about sources in an open post. Of course, even in the PM, security organs can tap into the sources and close them. But they probably won't do it at all. I think it is much more important to them that there is no public bazaar where members commit suicide to get attention.
To what extent SaSu drifts in this direction, every reader can answer for themselves here.

Perhaps, but it's not necessarily all about posting. There's a games section, chat, commenting, etc. Or even just having their account for a little while, doesn't necessarily have to be direct interaction, just some evidence of genuine activity.

Yeah I've noticed a lot of people are way too comfortable giving out sources to new members. No offense to new members of course I'm sure many are here for legitimate reasons but there's no way of knowing for sure unless they've been here a while. Even then it's better to be safe than sorry.
