Still depressed but one of the reasons I have struggled to move forward is a lack of capacity or understanding about what is going through my ex-girlfriend's mind. Been reading about many relationship types and none ever seemed to resonate. But recently came across the concept of 'future faking' and I think that is what happened to me. Here's an article: https://www.health.com/relationships/future-faking

A very interesting link. However, there may also be those who carried away with the enthusiasm of possibilities that a new relationship brings may suggest compatibility in excess of what is really felt. This can contribute a degree of sincerity that can make such a situation even more confusing.

as the article says, most of the time the intentions are good. I don't doubt that.

I'm glad you're feeling better but that article was really strange.

How does it make someone a narcissist if he is doing it inconsciously?

It's good to move on but don't fall into the trap of demonising your previous partner over a stranger's article on the internet. The pseudo pshychiatrists are making money from demonising mental illnesses.
