Hey all,

I desperately need to ctb for many reasons, both mental and physical. At the moment I'm planning to go to Beachy Head here in the UK.

Does anyone know the success/failure rate of ctb by jumping off the cliffs in Beachy Head? And if anyone would like to join me in this ctb journey, you are more than welcome.

Hiya,

I have seen numerous accounts of people talking about visiting Beachy Head for various reasons even yesterday there were two threads from the same person why not use the search function and look at the recent Partners Mega Thread.

As for survival rates it's very low but there have been cases where people landed on ledges and survived but a quick google search should display some results.

Thanks

Geo

Hey, so this doesn't answer your question as such but...I went to Beachyhead a couple of years ago with the intention of jumping. I chickened out but I did some research first, some of which you might be interested in.

1. There is a lot of YT videos which might help avoid Samaritans/pro-lifers/other interfering individuals & shows what it looks like up there (but good to go & check it out in person first if possible) & there's other useful info in them as well.

2. I caught the train to Eastbourne & walked up, mainly to avoid detection.
People who use a taxi to go up there & appear distressed or in any way suspicious (even being alone can appear suspicious) get caught out because the drivers have a special code they can use to alert the dispatch person in their office who then calls the police to come & stop you.

3. Going to the pub alone, especially if you appear distressed/anxious/suspicious often results in the staff calling the police (&/or Samaritans/other).

But if you chicken out & need a taxi back to the station they're helpful enough call one for you.

4. There used to be flowers & crosses where people had successfully jumped from, they are no longer there.
Jumping from the wrong place can lead to failure (& usually bad injuries & a rescue mission which puts others in danger) because you can land on outcrops of rock. Most of beachyhead & nearby is not a sheer drop even though it looks like it in most places.
