Does anyone know if there are any barriers up at beachy head preventing one from jumping?

No, there are over 20 suicides a year there. There is a sign to helplines and patrols (presumably intermittent) by people (bot the authorities) to stop jumpers.

Hello there!
I've never been to Beachy Head but I'm considering this too. I'm scared of heights but it's difficult to get poisons (my preferred way) here and I feel I have limited options.

Is it difficult to get to the cliffs?
I live in Cambridge so I'd have to travel there via train & public transport and obviously, I'd be travelling by myself.
Once there, would there be a lot of patrols?

Also, does anyone know how late public transport goes there?

Thank you for any help.

Couldn't see any when I last checked on Google Earth, but I've never actually travelled there so can't say for sure.

No barriers. Just warning signs near the cliff edge. The chaplains patrol the area frequently to intercept jumpers. Also the taxi drivers, shop owners, town people etc are on the watch for 'odd profiles'. I was told Z curve is the best spot to go.

I've been there and it's super easy to be gone if you want .. It is nothing like what u or anyone else explains.

The chaplain car does parole up and down but just one and can't been seen when your high up on the cliff. And ain't much others truly watching you deep if you fit in or do your thing quick

Last time I visited in 2017 it was very easy to get to the cliffs. No physical barriers or anything.

It's my favourite place in the UK. Travel wise it's a drag to get to if you don't have a car. There's only 1 bus from Eastbourne that only runs in summer and it comes once an hour if you're lucky.

It's full of tourists in summer so anyone lurking at a cliff edge would draw attention unless you go very early or very late.
And in winter you can't get there without a car.

Bear in mind cab drivers in the area have been given guidance on spotting potential jumpers.

There's only 1 section with a sheer drop. If you jump anywhere else you could land on a ledge.

A guy survived jumping Beachy Head and is now wheelchair-bound. There used to be a video on yt about him years ago, don't know if it's still available.

Hi,
I went up there a few weeks ago. At around 6PM I was alone sitting just a few meters from the cliff edge. The area was already deserted before the the sun completely set.
Then, I hesitated and I just sat there for a few hours 😔
Since I'm scared of heights I couldn't really look down the edge to see if there was a ledge below. I thought it was quite high enough, but still I hesitated.
I don't really understand why.

And, I regret not jumping.
Cried several nights just thinking about it.

Jumping is hard. I don't think I could go through with it.

I hear the Humber bridge is also popular and may be easier to travel to, but last I heard they were putting up barriers but not totally sure..
