I plan to travel to Beachy Head in a week. Does anyone know the best spot for jumping?

I've never been, but from looking at pictures, I would guess right by the lighthouse. You'll hit ground there instead of water.

I don't but I suggest you don't share your ctb location here. I think one of the members was stopped by cops when they shared ctb location

If looking from the lighthouse (at the bottom), I think slightly to the left it looks like a fairly verticle drop onto ground. It's hard to tell from Google maps. It's a shame there is no information on where people actually jumped from when reading articles about people who have successfully CTB there.

Yes that place is full of police and the good Samaritans. Do think we'll your decision. It's ok to rethink , either way I hope you find peace whatever path you choose.

I'm out of options. I tried hanging, it snapped. Tried drowning myself and failed. I've been sectioned over 6 times. Last 7 years have been hell. Bipolar depression. The ideal way would be SN but that's not possible.. I can't think of anything that will be certain and relatively painless...

I understand the feeling of desperation. I'm sorry you are in this situation. I know that it is hard to carry on when you are suffering so much. We all deserve the option of a peaceful exit at a time of our own choosing. It is horrible that people have to resort to risky and traumatic methods to end their pain. Whatever happens, I wish you the best.

Beachy Head looks like a awesome spot to CTB! the cliff overlooking the lighthouse seems A-ok, though it's your choice for choosing a location.

Just be careful in the fact It's a popular spot for suicide and they most likely put up countermeasures like policemen, etc, and then there are pro-life/good samaritan people's to watch for, good luck man

I was thinking of going soon as well considering it's only about 2 hours away from me. What do the police do?

If you don't have a good excuse for being there or you look suspicious (looking over the edge, stalling in place, are there alone etc) they'll probably stop and have a chat with you.

You might be able to talk yourself out of it but there's a chance they might get you sectioned or taken to hospital.

I think its a beautiful spot if jumping is your method but prepare to potentially be stopped, in going you must accept at least some risk of a hospital trip unfortunately. :/

Maybe there's times when you're less likely to see them, I'm not entirely sure.

the fear of being stopped is so frustrating. Why stress out the suicidal person during their final moments! let them have peace and enjoy nice views before ctb. prolifers are crazy

i'm also considering using jumping as my method. i would really like to be somewhere beautiful like beachy head or preikestolen in my last moments, just taking in nature before i go, however the more i think about it the more unlikely this seems to me.

i'll probably have to end up using a bridge if i can't travel far (because of money depending and other things when i decide to ctb) and the only bridge which is somewhat accessible to me, is a height that i'm fairly certain will make it a quick end and is somewhat near nature has suicide barriers up. i get why they do it i guess, i'm just frustrated that if i end up using jumping as a method and have to use that location i'll have to try to parkour my way over some fence and won't be able to just take my time and try to enjoy the view before i go.

the main thing i'm worried about with this method though, is how my body will look. i mean obviously it won't matter to me, but i don't really want to take the option away from my friends if they would want to see me and i wouldn't want them to see my body if it was really badly disfigured.

This is a little debatable, because many people who jump at the Golden Gate Bridge die by drowning, so it might be better to hit the water, which is supposed to be a much harder surface when jumping from a higher height. The ground might be better, or it might not, I'm just not sure. Both will probably work though.

Truthfully mosy suicide methods result in a closed casket situation- some may not, but most do. For me if I want to end the pain I can't be concerned about the appearance of the body later.

Sadly I've had a few dealings with the fuzz. Though if I see them approaching it may be good as it'll kick me into flight (literally) mode.

I don't like cops, they don't care about people like me, so the catharsis of sticking it to the state would be quite nice for all the grief they've caused me.

Parents are away in the summer for 10 days so hopefully I can check it out then and if they do take me to the NHS I wouldn't worry them too much.
Can go together if you want
Thank you but no thanks

Some of the Beachy Head folks can get quite physical - even tackling folks who break into a run at their approach.

They are there 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If you can find another place, that might be a better option.

I dont get this respect of the dead. When we're dead, thats it. Our life is gone and yet the corpse undergoes a serious of rituals.Who cares if we get t thrown in to a mass grave or furnace. Im being cremated in a body bag, that s my advanced directive. We return to the soil as ashes or rot in the ground.

They do that and I'll call the cops. Be nice to finally inflict their wrath on someone else other than me. Though knowing my luck they'll side with the pro-life folk and sanction me or something 🙄

I've seen other posts that if you are careful you can get a wide open chance to do this here, you just need to not look suspicious and if there is too much traffic come by an another day or at another time.

I actually did drive down there about two weeks ago after my parents had a big argument. I sent a text to my friends before I got lost and by the time I pulled over and checked my phone I had missed calls from them and my mum and Kent police so it was quite morbidly funny in a sense
