straight in front of us looks like the best drop, no ledges, and nice overhang, and looks high, but the lighthouse is now behind us - so is that the best spot, to the right of the lighthouse if looking at the sea?

OP I'm sure that bit would do the job - though I have minor concerns regarding the shingle there - but it's a bit higher nearer the lighthouse and I think there are more big boulders at the bottom. Seven Sisters and Seaford Head (above the Cuckmere river) are not as high as the photo here.

True but i think they may be less patrolled....am sure shingle wouldn't make much odds ....250' at seven sisters...
