I've read many people say they feel safe and fully private in hotels, but this perception is wrong. In Europe, where I mainly work, surveillance is widespread everywhere, from Scandinavia to Germany, from the Benelux countries down to Greece.
Do not place blind trust in Airbnb or hotels.
I work in the surveillance sector and deal directly with the installation of these systems for certified agencies. We live in a hyper surveilled world, where controls are everywhere: micro-cameras, acoustic sensors, noise detectors, and other devices.
Those who rent out a property do not do so lightly, and in hotels this is even more true: owners and management do not want problems, and that is why they prefer to control rather than trust.
