As the title says, I attempted this. I had 400 feet of rigging rope that I tied to a concrete pillar and my neck. I drove away with the hopes of decapitating myself. However the rope snapped. I have an intense ligature scar around my neck and flipped my truck as well. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks for injuries. I was then taken to inpatient and now I am in a residential program. It's been a crazy couple months. Just wanted to talk about this. Thank you.

Sorry it didn't work out. If you don't mind me asking, where'd the rope break?

I see. I saw a case where a guy succeeded that way with metal wire.

I have considered doing this many times. It seems like a sure fire plan, but sounds like things can go wrong. What type of rope did you use? How has residential been? Helpful at all?

I used a rescue rigging rope which had a 20,000 breaking load limit which I thought for sure would have been strong enough. As of now I'm glad I survived. Residential has been going pretty well, learning many new skills and gaining new perspectives.

Just looked this up - pretty hectic images from the scene of someone that did it. Genius method though

Wow you must have a mighty neck to break a 20k lb rope. 😳
