ate a baguette and i am now a bit more okay with living

whole family drove to france without me, we've never been to france. they brought me back some chopsticks and a baguette. it's amazing. i'm an american living in the EU, maybe living in isolation is okay if i get to be so close to so many different foods and countries.

i apologize if off-topic is inappropriate for this, i wouldn't consider myself in "recovery" since i go way up and way down in mood constantly, hour to hour.

croissants are even better. if you ever visit france/italy/germany/that area, the pastries there are unmatched.
I was house/dogsitting, and i prefer staying home rather than travelling anyways. i would love to travel but it just takes too much out of me.
I moved in Jan 2024 with my family. It is temporary, 3-5 years. It's got lots of ups and downs. It is very very VERY rare to find english speakers my age in my town. It's very very lonely, isolating, confusing. I am a literal alien here. but every day i see and taste and hear new things and it makes life a little more bearable. It honestly sucks being on this kind of see-saw of mood rather than the limbo i've been on for the past 4 years, but the bread is worth it.

I hope things get better soon. If you want to learn French, LingoDeer is my all time favorite app. I prefer it over Duolingo honestly. But you do have to pay for it. Is it on a work visa kinda of thing?
