  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Most of us here are pro-choice, but some of you had your pro-life thoughts in the past (as was my case), at what point did you stop thinking pro-life? and what were the reasons?

Honestly before I had suicidal thoughts I was neither pro-life nor pro-choice, I was just a depressed mess.

We're biologically programmed to being pro-life, but rationality leads us to being pro-choice.

I think for me I use to constantly switch between prolife and pro-choice in reffrence to myself. For others around me that I loved who felt the same I always gave them the whole "prolife" bs with the "You have so much to live for it'll be okay ect". But last year after a major life event I'm all around just say fuck it now. I don't feel any part of me wanting to keep lying to myself that I will get better. For others around me I just tell them I love them and that they know what's best for themselves. Hope that made sense. Bit high atm.

As I got older and I realized almost everything I was taught about life was a lie. When I realized how predatory and cruel life is, there was no desire to defend it as good once the truth became clear. Indeed, now I feel like so much suffering on earth happens because people are unable or unwilling to see life for what it is. It is darker than people want to admit. Especially in that it is inherently predatory and unfair/cruel.

I think for me it was realizing how many non-suicidal and pro-life people are actually also miserable and unsatisfied with their lives. Even though I'm really down bad, down to the point of wanting to kill myself - they aren't necessarily happy either. Which just makes it seem like bullshit when people talk about how "life is worth living," "things will get better." That was very, very discouraging to me when I was younger. Seeing all of the older people who are also unhappy just isn't fun, because it really says the truth about how enjoyable life is. I shouldn't expect my life to ever be particularly happy, because "recovering" isn't becoming happy. It's becoming normal, which is obviously better than being depressed, but still not that good.

I was a pro life before and when I first discovered this website, but as I read through some of the threads of people here, I started to rethink and asked myself some questions such as: Is it truly moral to keep people who are suffering alive? Can everyone get the help they needed and can change their lives? Is positivity always the solution? Slowly, I realize the answer is no, so I started to support the right to die.
