Anyone here into astrology? Longing for @mooncide right now. I'm just dipping my toe in the water. Perhaps excessively seeking but based on what I've experience in life it's hard to argue against a connection between the physical, energetic AND spiritual. The universe/nature is constructed in so many brilliantly logical ways. At 1st glance commercialization seems to have muddied the waters but there looks to be some truth to it beyond simple confirmation bias.

For those interested have you related it to your life path, potential for suicide or to avoid it? I haven't looked at an in depth chart or gotten a serious reading but am going to talk with someone after learning more. The broader picture of my horoscope from an app is markedly different from a friend, it seems like it could represent more tension and risk, especially related to suicide based on this article. I'm not basing too much weight in it yet but has caused me to bust out the old thinking cap

I am not all that clued up or into Astrology, although its very powerful. I am a very spiritual and deep person with all sorts of beliefs and believe everything has to be connected, see no other way. There is so much more to life, than our everyday ones and what we 'see' with our naked eye.............great to explore all these things.

I find it interesting, and there are some interesting patterns seen amongst people who kill themselves and their birth charts - one thing you should look into with this though is transits. Transits are often ignored by people just dipping their toes into astrology, but it's usually the main "push" for people to finally do something or cause a situation.

Do I need to be able to read natal charts to understand transits? I have my transit chart, do I need to go to an expert? How long does it take to learn all this stuff for yourself?

it's interesting you say that... I've been frustratingly pushing a lot lately, causing situations and an impetus for the door to open or close on a better life.

thanks for the feedback

Look at the interactions yourself and google it, there are tons of resources out there that are completely free.
For a deeper (free) natal chart interpretation, try here:

Top left corner, input your birth data (hope you know the time you were born, as it makes a big impact on the accuracy)

I was pretty into Astrology a few years ago. Especially traditional Astrology with the Whole Signs system. The modern Astrology system, I wasn't too fond of. It seems very... generalized and hippie-like? No bad placements, no bad charts! Everything is good and powerful! Bla bla bla! Also, don't like the outer planets and new rulerships. Astrology existed for 2000-5000~ years without the outer planets and the whole framework is based upon that. And then in less than 100 years of modern life, they suddenly try to pretend a tiny planet like Pluto (size of Russia) who moves so slow that it stays up to 30 years in a sign is as relevant as Saturn?

Anyway these days, I'm still curious but I'm not 100% convinced Astrology is actually legit and not just exploring your own subconscious through confirmation bias and selective perception. I'd love to see a more scientific and logical approach, getting hard data and proof. Statistics about which signs and placements kill themselves the most. :)

this will make more sense to you than me... in this study fixed signs had more emphasis (?) and results were Taurus 40 (yes!!!), Leo 40, Aquarius 36, Scorpio 27. A different less research based article I read highlighted water constituency as a logical high risk group.

I have like 80% water in my chart. Feeling called out! What about you?

Reading the article now.

Haha I need to learn to chart read, YouTubing now. Was told in the past a lot of water too with some earth.

Edit: yes I know my birth time! Lot of results to go through. I'd guess close to 75% were accurate, some were broad. It said water was 20% although don't think that's reflective of my personality. One thing it did confirm is I absolutely hate myself :ahhha: !!

Water signs do seem to be inherently more likely to get to the point of wanting to kill themselves for sure - interestingly, both Robin Williams and Chris Cornell were cancers. A lot of cancerians (and water signs in general) are in the long list of famous suicides.

I'm a cancer myself, with pluto being my main planet (most aspects and it's in an important house) and very watery.
So if you guys have this too, don't be surprised.
Interesting find:

"The observed occurrence of deaths due to natural causes, and suicide, in relation to birth signs did not differ significantly from what would be expected from chance. However, the distribution of suicide by hanging appeared significantly higher in those with a birth sign of Virgo and lowest in Sagittarius and Scorpio. The distribution of violent and non-violent suicides in relation to star signs showed higher occurences of violent death in persons born in the summer months."

"If the planet Mars is within 30 degrees with the planet Saturn (equal to one sign or one house in astrology) or it is in square aspect with Saturn by astrological standard (equal to 90 degrees with the difference of 8 degrees allowed). And with this configuration, if any one of the other planets is in the Sign Scorpio (especially Jupiter or Uranus), it shows the danger of committing suicide".

me, having both:
