Many people (including me some years ago) get really sad on Valentine's day

As for me, I might feel more lonely than usual today but I don't give a damn about this day.

I'm walking/running while I type this in a very popular port from Buenos Aires. There are lots of couples while I'm forever alone haha

What about you? Do you feel more depressed/lonely/sadder/suicidal than usual today?

I have always passed this date but in the end, it ended up affecting me, especially when I was young. Now it makes me a little sadder because I think more about my loneliness.

Yes. As my partner of 26 years moved out almost a month ago. The 1st valentine's day apart in 27 years.

Let's just say I'm not good.

Not really. But maybe that's because I am a cynical monolith who no longer drinks the Kool-Aid and no longer believes in fairy tales.

Discovering love is a lie is hands down the most useful lesson I learned in life. I now neither crave love or expect it. I'm freeeeee!!!!

I am particularly depressed today, although I completely forgot it was Valentine's Day. I do actually have a partner, but he lives some distance away. He also lives with his elderly, diabetic dad, and they've pretty much seen no one since the pandemic started because of worries about the virus.

So now I actually feel worse. THANKS, SS THREAD YOU RUINED THE VALENTINES DAY I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW I WAS HAVING.

Yup, it's just painful to be alone and this makes me really sad. Even to the point where I just cry.
Like I understand, it's some random day that supposes to be romantic and all but there are people who are single and don't really want to witness all this crap.

That's why I just shut off my phone in the morning and decided to skip this day by drinking like 2300mg of THC Lean. I was kinda successful by drinking that stuff but the effects only lasted for 11 hours :- (

Yep,split up with my girlfriend of a 2 of years a couple of weeks ago and my friend saw her on some dating apps yesterday. We had some big plans organised for today so its been particularly tough to ignore the part of my brain telling me to hang myself.
