Thank you for sharing your point of view.1 You need to find a steamroller. This is not something the average person has laying around. You say finding one is easy, I very much disagree with you.
2 Someone willing to operate it and kill you or a way to rig it yourself which then you are getting into complications aimialr to other methods.
3 Space to run a steamroller safely. I live in an apartment in a big city. Where am I aulpoaes to do this?
4 I have my doubts with SI. This method gives you a lot of time to sit and think before your skull is crushed, which has a high risk of you backing out.
If you have already worked out the logistics with it and think that it will work for you then great, but obviously a lot of people see flaws in it.
EDIT: I want to clarify a bit and say that people on this site are looking for methods that are accessible to them, and that are tested and known. Your method might work for you, and that's great. However, it is not something that could be widely applicable to a large number of people, and also, no one has documentation on how to specifically execute this method and how reliable it is for a quick and painless death. This may turn out to be a fantastic method, but at the end of the day people here want something that's tried and true.
However, I would like to revisit a few key points for the sake of completeness and clarity for everyone reading.
The thread opened by Timechained was simply asking:
"Are you disappointed that this site doesn't offer new methods?"
So the original topic was about exploring new ideas, without setting any requirement for methods to be easy, quick, or painless.
It was only later, through one of your interventions in the discussion, that new criteria were introduced — specifically, that methods should also be easy, quick, and painless.
I think it's important to point out clearly:
these requirements were not part of the original thread, but rather arose from your personal observations later in the discussion.
Therefore, I considered it appropriate to respond on both levels:
To the original topic, by proposing a genuinely new method (the road roller),
To the later-introduced criteria, by showing that the method is also fast, painless, and relatively accessible today.
Furthermore:
There is no need for another person to operate the roller: there are simple ways to block the throttle lever or prepare the machine for autonomous movement without technical complications.
The forum itself contains discussions about methods that are much more painful and complex, such as drowning, severe self-harm, dehydration (dissepsy), self-immolation, or jumping from great heights.
So it is not accurate to generalize by saying that "everyone only seeks" easy and painless methods.
I had already opened a thread about this method days ago, which at the time received little attention.
I simply took the opportunity to bring it back now that the search for new methods is again a central topic.
I would also like to highlight an important point:
the current accessibility of the road roller is due to the fact that the method is not yet publicly known as a suicide technique.
Today, no special permits, licenses, or municipal authorizations are required: road rollers can be easily rented like any other construction equipment.
However, if the method were to become known or spread more widely, it is highly likely it would face strict regulations, as happened before:
With sodium nitrite, now restricted in many countries,
With helium, which was initially available in pure form but was later mixed with oxygen in commercial tanks to prevent its use for suicide.
In other words:
there is currently a real window of accessibility,
which would likely close quickly if the method attracted public or media attention.
In short:
I have correctly responded both to the original request (new ideas) and to the additional criteria (easy, quick, painless) that were introduced later in the discussion.
I believe it is important to have a calm and honest exchange about solutions, acknowledging that — as with any real-world method — a minimum of preparation and logistical consideration is always necessary.
Thank you again for the opportunity to better clarify my position.
