No. First of all I don't really have anyone in my life that I love enough, or anyone that loves me enough too. Even if I did I don't think it would be worth dying since love is not indestructable. You could die for someone today that might no longer care about you tomorrow.

I can't remember who said it, but I read a quote somewhere that said: "Love is like a chain of obedience that can be broke at a moments notice" or something along those lines.

Maybe. It could be a convenient way to CTB without causing too much damage since it could be seen as justified that way. There's only one person who I still care about though she probably doesn't care about me. Either way, I might still be too much of a coward though.

If this was in some alternate reality where I didn't have chronic illness and actually wanted to live then no, I don't think so. As it stands, there's a long list of people I'd die for currently, if only just to get to die.
I could envision myself dying for my kid(s) if I had any and potentially my partner if I was with them for a very long time. But I'm not too sure, depends on the context.

My immediate family most definitely. Though tbh my life doesn't really have any value so I'd be happy to risk my life even if it's just for some random person's temporary amusement, as long as I get to die I don't care.

My cousin. Ever since he came into the family I have loved him so much. I was 11 when he was born and even at that age knew I would give my life for his. He's the only family I care about. I love that kid so much. Him and my cat are the two I'm going to have a hard time leaving.

my family, although mine is kinda of a "Build it yourself" type family. i dont have a mom and dad or the normal things. i actually only have 3 members from my blood family. my grampy and my 2 brothers. in my family i also have my husband and my friend that has helped me out through so much and has been there for me even when i didnt know he was. these are the people i would protect with my life and i would do anything for.

may i ask how? my mother has spent my entire life destroying it literally from the second i was born. sometimes i wonder if i should forgive her but i know i cant. ive never really been one to forgive. you hurt me and you dont care so why should i?

Maybe younger, I had people who I looked up to, admired, and what not. Nowadays, none as I am just looking to secure my peace and be done with this (shitty) life once end for all. Furthermore, it doesn't always pay to be a hero, because who is going to give me a peaceful death if I end up crippled while in the midst of protecting someone? See this example in one of the episodes of Dr. Phil (You might have to scroll down to the middle of the page or lower), where a person was not only crippled from intervening and being a hero, but also vilified by the greater public for wanting to gain compensation for injuries from the incident.

In my current state, I'd die for just about anyone.

If I was not so willing to die, there are still many people for whom I'd give my life - my husband or any of his family members; my goddaughters; my best friend; several of my former students with whom I have good relationships. I guess I've never really valued my life more than other people's, to be honest.

I can't say for sure, because generally the life-giving part is the least sacrificed part of the sacrificial act. Picture someone saying (hypothetically) "I would give my life for my country", but it's not the mere surrendering of life the sacrifice but the going to war. Where he may well end up sacrificing much more and perhaps still keep his life.

So this decontextualized "giving my life for someone" is hard to answer one way or another. Most likely the practical meaning will be far more complex than deciding whether to give them a spot in the titanic lifeboat or not.

Despite all this, yes, it would have been great not to fail miserably and get to "giving my life for" someone. But at this point all of the historical possible someones wouldn't even take me for it.
